IT services for the Aer Lingus frequent flyer programme AerClub continue to make positive progress. People are reporting that United Airlines Avios are now posting, plus online services have improved.

AerClub is a decent enough proposition, awarding Avios based on the amount you spend on your flight. You can also earn on every day purchases such as groceries with Irish chain SuperValu.

United Airlines Avios

Aer Lingus partner with United Airlines in the USA. For the past 18 months, AerClub has not been posting Avios earned on these flights. The reason was never stated, however they did indicate that all flights were being recorded for future posting of the miles.

Members are advising that the United Airlines Avios have now posted, including flights from way back when. People flying First and Business Class on United receive 100% Avios based on distance flown while Economy is 75% for all classes except S, T, L, K, G, N which earn 50%.

Online Services Working Properly

When redeeming your Avios for an award flight, it was impossible to use the online systems to select a seat or add extras. It is now reported that this functionality is working online also.

A member reports they logged in using the Avios booking reference on the Aer Lingus app and were able to select seats and pay for them and so on. Great news for those of us who are specific in where we like to sit.

Overall Thoughts

Having all the services working for the customer is paramount when it comes to a loyalty programme. The last thing a customer needs is frustration and annoyance when trying to make, manage or be rewarded for a booking.

Proudly flying the shamrock, Aer Lingus is known for its excellent on board service and ever growing network. It is great to see that this is finally also transferring across to the AerClub side of the business.
