Hilton is expanding in the Florida Keys with the conversion of Ocean’s Edge Resort & Marina on Stock Island into the Hilton Key West Resort & Marina. Reservations are already being accepted for stays beginning July 1, 2026. At first glance, this looks like a solid addition to Hilton’s Florida portfolio. Key West is one of those destinations where hotel prices can get very expensive, especially during peak travel periods. Adding another Hilton Honors option is good news for loyalists. But there’s one detail travelers should notice right away. This resort is not in the heart of downtown Key West.
New Hilton Offering On Stock Island
The property is located at 5950 Peninsular Avenue, on the eastern edge of Key West. That puts it on Stock Island, roughly six miles from downtown Key West. In fact, some travelers may prefer being away from the busiest parts of Duval Street and the cruise ship crowds. The resort will offer a complimentary shuttle to downtown Key West, which helps bridge the location gap. Still, if your idea of a Key West vacation involves walking out of your hotel and immediately being in the middle of the action, this location may not be ideal. If you want more space, water views and a quieter resort-style setup, this could make a lot more sense.
What The Resort Will Offer
The converted property will have 175 guest rooms, including 86 suites. Each room will feature a private furnished balcony overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, marina or tropical surroundings. The resort will also feature six saltwater pools, a full-service marina, a fitness center and outdoor activities like paddle boarding, kayaking, bicycling, yoga classes, poolside movies and lawn games.
Dining will include Yellowfin Bar & Kitchen, focused on island-inspired cuisine, along with Ocean’s Edge Café, a grab-and-go option with Cuban-inspired coffee, smoothies and breakfast items. This sounds less like a standard city hotel and more like a full resort experience.
Hilton Honors Redemption Opportunity
For Hilton Honors members, this is worth keeping on the radar.Key West is not a cheap hotel market. Cash rates can climb quickly, especially during winter, holidays and long weekends. If award pricing is reasonable, this could become a useful redemption option.
The big question will be how Hilton prices it. Hilton Honors uses dynamic pricing, so there may be times when this property is a decent points value and other times when rates are painful. That is simply the reality of Hilton redemptions now.
I did a quick check for the months of July and August and found that the average price per night was between 72,000 to 95,000 points per night. Bear in mind that Hilton Honors has no fixed award chart, so the range can always change.

At the moment, American Express is offering higher than usual welcome bonuses on all of their co-branded credit cards with Hilton Honors. If you’re eligible, then you can definitely sign up, meet the minimum spend and then use your points to book a stay at this property.
The Pundit’s Mantra
This is branded as Hilton Key West Resort & Marina, but the property is on Stock Island, not in the middle of downtown Key West. For some guests, that will be a drawback. For others, it may be the entire appeal. The resort setup sounds compelling: balconies, pools, marina access, water views and a quieter location. For Hilton Honors members, the strategy is simple. Watch the rates once award pricing appears, compare cash versus points and factor in the location before booking.
If priced well, this could become one of Hilton’s more interesting Florida Keys redemptions.
