Location and Access
Before my flight from Stockholm to Copenhagen on SAS, I was able to access the American Express Lounge by Pontus Frithiof at Stockholm Arlanda Airport as we were leaving from Terminal 5. I’ve heard about this lounge before, and it is a unique concept. AMEX has partnered with Swedish chef Pontus Frithiof to create this restaurant lounge.
The location of the lounge is across from La Girafe by Pontus Frithiof near the E gates. It was perfect for me as it was on the way to the SAS Lounge and my gate. Hours of operation are from 5 am to 7:30 pm daily.

You just have to go up a floor to the check-in desks, though I found the large bar with a sink at the entrance on the airport level was interesting. I wonder if they sometimes do some events/demos and use that sink lol. We were quickly checked in and told we could sit wherever we wanted (that didn’t have a reserved sign).
Once you get upstairs, the space is divided into 2 separate Platinum and Centurion lounges, turning in opposite directions from the check-in desk. I accessed the lounge with the AMEX Platinum consumer card, and the guest policy allows 1 complimentary guest. For any additional guests, there is a $50 USD fee for each guest 13 and over and a $25 USD fee for children aged 3-12 (under 3 is complimentary). Card Members must arrive within 3 hours of their departing flight.
The Lounge
The lounge feels like a restaurant, with many dining tables, half booths, and bar seating. There was a very small buffet with some cookies as well.

We entered around 2 pm, and were told we could order anything off the left side of the menu, while they had some additional items for purchase.

There was a soup course, and the daily special was carrot this time.
Complimentary main courses included:
- Baked Pork Belly
- Fish Stew Aioli
- Salad Primeur
- Chicken Open Sandwich
And, there were complimentary snacks, wine, and beverages available as well.
My friend got the carrot soup, and we both shared the pork belly and chicken open sandwich. I didn’t really care for the sandwich, though we both enjoyed the pork belly. It was nice to have a full restaurant-style meal before our flight!

In terms of other amenities at the lounge, there really isn’t anything other than restrooms in the back. Though they were a bit messy, and honestly, the airport restrooms in this terminal are just fine.
The Verdict
Overall, American Express Stockholm Lounge by Pontus Frithiof was a nice spot to grab a restaurant-style meal before a flight! It was perfect to eat here, then head to the SAS Lounge to chill.
