In an email today, Marriott announced a free promotion and giveaway for people to enter. You can win either a three night stay at any Marriott Hotel or a Marriott Bedding Set, or if you are a Rewards Member, you can win both! Get up to five additional entries for subscribing to affiliated hotel brand mailing lists. There is no cost to enter, and no cost to signing up for Marriott Rewards. Free promotion and free entry, no reason not to sign up. This is to promote their bedding and physical goods sales, and the various websites. I do want to point out that this is a quick and efficient way of making your place smell like a five star hotel. Lady Hotelion does speak fondly of the smell of the Renaissance New York Hotel 57 when discussing aromas for the house.

In small print at the bottom of the page, Marriott lists some brief terms and conditions:

If the winner is a Marriott Rewards Member at the time of drawing, then winner will win both a 3 night Marriott stay and a Marriott bedding set. If the winner chosen is not a Marriott Rewards Member at the time of drawing, then winner will have a choice of either a 3 night Marriott stay or a Marriott bedding set.
3 night stay at any Marriott branded property is subject to availability.
Marriott Rewards is free to join. No purchase necessary.
Rules & Fine Print
One of the rules stuck out to me, below:
6. Prizes and Approximate Retail Values (“ARV”): Grand Prize (1): Winner’s choice of a Marriott bedding set or a three (3) consecutive night stay for winner and a guest at any Marriott location. If the Grand Prize winner is a Marriott Rewards member by March 31, 2018, he/she will receive both prizes. The maximum ARV of the Grand Prize is USD $2,539.50. Limit one (1) prize per person/household. It is free to become a Marriott Rewards member.
Note that the hotel stay is for any Marriott location, but limited to about $2,500. I’m sure that some Marriott hotel somewhere, during a busy time, would cost more than that amount. However, what a problem to have!
