It’s great to have some unique pieces in your home. These become talking points for guests and are a fun way to showcase your taste and interests. Frequent flyers and aviation types might want to consider upcycled aircraft parts to enhance their aesthetic.

The whole concept of upcycling really agrees with me. Rather than things being discarded, used materials are turned into entirely different pieces that can be functional, artistic or both.

What Can You Make Out Of Upcycled Aircraft Parts?

Turns out there are a bunch of things you can make from upcycled aircraft parts. I recently purchased a Rolls-Royce Conway fan blade piece from a Vickers VC10 engine, because why not!

The company I bought it from is called Avro Designs and they make a variety of things. Cufflinks, key rings and other engine blades are common. There are also these types of things…

Now I think a bar cart would be a pretty cool thing to have in the home. They also have clocks, other types of storage boxes and much more. There’s even a cool bookshelf made of Airbus A320 slats which you can see at the top of this article.

Overall Thoughts

I’ve written before about how Lufthansa upcycled aircraft parts into various home items, so I really like this kind of thing. While my Rolls-Royce Conway compressor blade is the first thing I’ve purchased, perhaps there’ll be more in the future.

What do you think of upcycling? Would you buy pieces from aircraft that have been remade into something cool for the home? Thank you for reading and if you have any comments or questions, please leave them below.
