As mentioned in the previous post, the Chase Hyatt card is valuable as both a standalone card and in conjunction with status matching, with its massive initial bonus, annual rewards, and Hyatt Platinum Status. In Part 2 of the Chase Hyatt Status Matching, let’s discuss further niche matching to casinos (such as the Borgata) and resorts on both coasts.

Get another $500-700 worth of freebies out of the Chase Hyatt card and enjoy a free room, $100 in free gambling, free buffets, and more at one of the most luxurious resorts on the East Coast. Read on for details!

East Coast? Do AC, for free! #Freeisthebest

If you’re like me, based on the East Coast, without the ability to easily travel to Las Vegas, you can take advantage of Hyatt’s partnership with MGM and their partnership with Borgata, a luxury resort in Atlantic City, and score a bevy of FREE goodies! Simply match your Hyatt Platinum to MGM’s M Life Gold tier (more details below) and match that Gold tier to Borgata’s Black Label tier!

What can I get for free at the Borgata in Atlantic City?

Borgata (and its hotel expansion, the Water Club) is the best in “America’s Playground.” Why not get the best for free?

Upon upgrade to Black Label, new members receive:

  • $100 Bonus Slot Dollars or Match Play – free gambling is a good way for those who don’t gamble to  get into it.
  • Complimentary Night’s Stay in a Classic Room – call Reservations to book, and they will be able to get you in, even if it’s a high demand weekend or holiday. This value is up to around $400-$500 depending on the day. Note: this is only at the Borgata, not the Water Club.
  • Access to VIP Lounge – unfortunately I have not taken advantage of it yet.
  • $20 Comp Dollars – valid for two free buffets (up to ~$80 value for dinner!) or access for two to the Amphora Lounge – open bar AND food buffet!

Black Label members always receive the standard benefits:

  • Free parking – both self and valet
  • Priority lines at check-in, My Borgata Center, restaurants and buffets, etc.
  • Invitations to Black Label only events
  • Priority access to suites/guest rooms

Things to note:

  • New member benefits are not valid for those who already have a Borgata membership card (Red Label)
  • You are still responsible for the $15 Resort fee – which includes standard internet, fitness center access, etc.
  • While Hyatt Platinum to M Life Gold to Black Label may be the easiest option, you can also match status from premium cards at other casinos, including Caesars Entertainment, Tropicana Atlantic City, or the closing Trump Taj Mahal

MGM Resorts and their partnership and (very) recent acquisition of the Borgata at Atlantic City is a boon to Hyatt Card holders. Borgata is the “premier resort in Atlantic City,” and a leader of entertainment, gaming, hospitality, and prestige in the Atlantic City area and across the East Coast. The Hyatt Platinum status, once matched to M Life Gold, is further valuable by matching the M Life Gold status to Borgata’s highest tier, the Black Label. You can find out more and match your status at the My Borgata Center. Simply show proof of M Life Gold status – either through the physical card, or by showing it on the M Life app or online.

Hyatt & MGM Partnership – #MakeVegasYours

For West Coasters, Hyatt’s partnership with MGM and their M Life Loyalty Program opens up another branch of hotels for membership perks. Per the Hyatt site, you can earn Gold Passport points on spending at MGM resorts, redeem points for free nights on the Vegas Strip, and have eligible MGM stays count towards status. A nifty perk to expand Hyatt’s footprint among a heavily trafficked area is to enjoy hotels primarily on the west side of the Vegas Strip. The east side is owned mostly by Caesars Entertainment, which is partnered with Starwood but does not have the same booking capabilities – although you have reciprocal point-earning ability and the counting of stays towards status. InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG) partners with the Sands hotels on the Strip – Venetian and Palazzo. All are excellent options for a great stay in Vegas.

The main benefit, however, is status matching with M Life Rewards – where your Chase Hyatt card with its Hyatt Platinum status can match to M Life’s Gold Rewards Tier. This qualifies you to additional M Life benefits at their hotels and resorts, such as room upgrades, member-only event invitations, and priority lines for check-ins, reservations, and entertainment. One of the benefits that I would like to try is the VIP line access to nightclubs and pool dayclubs – valid for both me, the Tier holder, and a guest! Yes, in Vegas, the party does not stop, from dayclub to nightclub, or casino to casino, there is always a plethora of fun activity.

A quick note – if you currently have status with M Life, this does not benefit you as much- even the highest level, Noir, only qualifies you for Hyatt Platinum status.

Lastly, per the Hyatt site, to match your Hyatt status to M Life Rewards, you have to call ((800) 323-7249) and provide both numbers. They say it takes up to two weeks, but that is a conservative estimate. Regardless, be sure to call at least this long in advance of any MGM stays, just to be safe.

The Chase Hyatt is worth anywhere between $500 and $700 just from the exclusive benefits at the Borgata Atlantic City. This is on top of all of the free nights and rewards from the Hyatt card, and the benefits of Hyatt Platinum and M Life Gold. If you are anywhere close to Atlantic City, enjoy a lovely getaway to the beach and entertainment and indulge in the fine dining and relaxation available. Improve your benefits further by taking advantage of Hyatt’s hospitality partnerships, with MGM properties in Las Vegas and the Borgata casino resort in Atlantic City.

You can double your rewards (as any card) by taking a significant other and showing them this post. Once you two get your four free nights at any Hyatt, you can also get two free nights (and perks, to boot) at the Borgata!
