Extremely cheap Flybe sale on Dublin to London Southend

British airline Flybe (Fly-bee) is offering flights from Dublin to London Southend for €14.99 all in. This is an extremely competitive deal for a flight to London and sale fares are available to book from now through to 4 April 2018.

When looking at the airline’s web site, it is €14.99 if you buy a one way flight. Buying a return will cost you €29.99 which is priced as €3.17 and €26.82 for the two flight sectors. Who are Flybe and what is London Southend?

A Little About Flybe

Flybe has been operating since 1979 and carried 8.8 million passengers in 2017 on routes primarily from UK regional cities to Europe. They operate a large fleet of Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 aircraft along with some Embraer 175 and 195 jets. Their motto is Close To You, which makes a lot of sense when you think about it.

Passengers can also earn Avios on flights, which is the reward currency used by other airlines such as Aer Lingus, Iberia and British Airways. From all reports, they are quite a decent regional carrier so flying with them should be fine.

London Southend Airport?

There is an airport at London Southend, which is used by easyJet and Flybe. Later this year, Air Malta will be serving three destinations from there as will Loganair to Carlisle. Since certain London airports are full, it is probable you will hear more about Southend in future.

Most importantly, there is a train service from the airport to Liverpool Street in Central London. This takes 53 minutes, which is comparable to the Tube from Heathrow to Central London which takes about 45 minutes. Therefore it should be easy to get to and from the airport.

Overall Thoughts

It is great seeing such a competitive fare to London from Dublin with Flybe. Other cities are not left out either, with similar fares are available from London Southend to Manchester, Budapest, Prague, Groningen and Cologne.

Since London Southend has a train station at the terminal, it has all the potential to grow into a competitive option for London in the future. The owners certainly hope so and plan to grow passenger numbers to 2 million by 2020.
