Starwood / Marriott previously announced that they would be building a St. Regis in the heart of Hong Kong. We finally have a set date for the property’s opening — January 1, 2019. This will be the first St. Regis property in the city and it looks unbelievable:

With interiors created by acclaimed Hong Kong-based designer, André Fu, the 25-story St. Regis Hong Kong will offer 129 guest suites, many of which will feature stunning views across Victoria Harbor and Kowloon Bay. (PRNewsfoto/St. Regis Hotels & Resorts)

Guests will enjoy the brand’s legendary St. Regis Butler Service, signature Chinese and French restaurants, a 320-seat banquet hall and a heated swimming pool, among other luxurious amenities. An open-air terrace next to a grand Lobby Lounge will provide the ideal venue for al fresco gatherings, and a St. Regis Bar will serve up the hotel’s rendition of the brand’s signature cocktail, the Bloody Mary.

No word yet on the category of this hotel, but if we are following a trend of other St. Regis properties in Asia, I’ll bet it’ll be a category 5 property and will run about 12,000-16,000 Starpoints per night.

Due this St. Regis being in HK, an expensive top world destination, I dont think the trend of other st regis’ in asia apply here. Considering RC is tier 5, JW cat 9, IC 70k, W cat 6.

I think its safe to assume this St. Regis will definitely be a 7 or atleast 6
