Revisiting the Hyatt Regency, International drive, Orlando

I was revisiting the Hyatt Regency, International drive, Orlando late this year. It is a popular hotel with conventioneers seeing as it is directly across the road from the OCCC, the Orange County Convention Center.

The Hyatt Regency itself has different sized ballrooms too and as such it is also popular with people who have one off events.

Last time we were here there was a dance event as well as 2 conventions on so it was very busy. This visit was not so busy so there was a different atmosphere.

The room:

This was the view of the room on entering. Bathroom on the right, lounge and bedroom ahead and a counter and drawers on the left.

a room with a mirror and a bed

One of those pod coffee machines was provided as well as water, ice bucket and paper cups.

a tray of coffee and water bottles

Nice to have a fridge in the room. I love being able to keep milk, cheese, yoghurt, sodas and water cold during my stay.

a refrigerator and shelves on a shelf

Other nice to haves are the safe, the iron and the ironing board.

a closet with clothes on a rail a white safe with a keypad and a digital screen

The room I was in on this visit was more of a suite as there was a separate sitting room with sofa, chairs and a desk.

Here is the bedroom with the tv on a unit with drawers and a small chaise at the foot of the bed.

a bed with a bench in a hotel room

This tv unit is a bit bland for a Hyatt Regency but it is helped by the fact that there is a separate unit in the lounge next door.

The bedside table has a nice lamp, telephone, Holy Bible and barcode for menu and hotel instructions.

a phone and a book on a table

Lounge area:

Very nice lounge with sofa which is also a fold out bed, 2 nice comfy chairs and 3 tables.

a couch and chairs in a room

This room also has a tv which is mounted to the wall, and there is another chest with drawers here, as well as the desk, lamp and comfy chair. All in all a really nice space.

The bathroom:

Single basin but a nice large counter with tissues, hand cream, a vanity kit, glasses and soap.

a sink with a round mirror

All of the toiletries are by Pharmacopia, specifically their Argan Oil collection. I love that there are glasses in the bathroom and not the plastic cups that I still come across in some hotels.

a tissue box and a bottle of liquid

Single head shower with rather nice water flow. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash by Pharmacopia, Argan Oil Collection.

The LED screens all over the lobby area:

This is the large LED screen behind the check in desk. It sometimes has useful information on it but here it is showing a computer generated nature scene.

This is the interesting 8 bladed screen at the concierge type area. It is a really nice design.

Here is the screen at the side entrance to the hotel that you reach when you walk over the bridge from the OCCC to the hotel. A pleasant entrance and a really lovely quality screen.

These cubicles are further around from the main entrance. They are really nice and useful to sit in and wait for your ride as there are large glass windows that give you a clear view of the motor court outside.

In case you have a vehicle the parking rate is $50 for overnight and $50 for the day too.

a window with a bicycle and a bicycle on it

This is a lovely view of the building with smart gardens outside.

And this is the view of the hotel from a lounging chair at the pool. There are so many other facilities available at this hotel that I mentioned in my previous review like indoor golf, 24 hour snack and drink area, pool bar and others. I hope you get to enjoy them soon.

Conclusion:

The Hyatt Regency, International drive, Orlando is a really good hotel to stay in if you are visiting for a convention, for theme park visits or just in Orlando as a tourist.

I hope you enjoy your stay as mush as I did.
