Background & Access
I was flying on the Singapore Airlines flight from New York to Singapore that makes a stop in Frankfurt and then continues to Singapore in May 2025. As a business class passenger, you can access either the Lufthansa Business Class Lounge or the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge. Per a recommendation of a friend, I decided to go to the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge as it is said to be more peaceful. Other reviewers note that the food selection is better at the Lufthansa Lounge, but it is not as serene.
This was the fifth Maple Leaf Lounge I’ve visited, as I have visited ones in Los Angeles (LAX), Vancouver (YVR), Montreal (YUL) & New York (LGA).
Other ways to access the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge at Frankfurt Airport include flying on a departing Business Class with Air Canada or a Star Alliance partner, holding Aeroplan Elite Status (50K+), or being a Star Alliance Gold member. You can check the Air Canada website for a full list of access rules.
At the time of this post, the hours of operation are from 6 am to 5 pm daily, and the lounge is located in Terminal 1, Concourse B (Level 3).
My Visit
I had about 40 minutes until my next flight was boarding, and after the overnight flight from New York to Frankfurt, a nice shower sounded amazing before another 12-hour flight to Singapore.
As soon as I got off the plane, I headed to the lounge, which wasn’t too far, and just a gate or two over from the Lufthansa Senator Lounge.
You’ll see signs in the airport, and come across the modern wooden entrance.

The lounge was pretty empty when I got in around 11 am on a Thursday, and a friendly associate scanned my boarding pass, and I was in! There are two shower suites, and it’s first-come, first-served, and you don’t need to sign up or anything, just see if one is available. Both of the suites were available, and the attendant was cleaning one of them, so I took the other one. She just asked if I kept my shower to 20 minutes, which was fine with me.
The shower suite was pretty nice and felt updated. Molton Brown toiletries were provided, and the shower had both a rainfall and a wand.

After my shower, I had about 15 more minutes, so I just grabbed a sip of Orange Fanta (the formula is so much better in Europe) and wandered around the lounge a bit. The lounge is quite posh, and I liked the sofa choices and color palette. It was pretty empty, so people were spread out, and there was a mixture of dining tables and sofa-style seating.

In the back, there are single relaxation pods. Also, there is a business center in the front near the reception.

I didn’t try the food, but the buffet selection did seem a little limited. There were some hot items, and then a whole section for tea, coffee, alcohol, and fountain sodas.

The Verdict
Overall, I really liked my quick visit to the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge in Frankfurt to freshen up and take a quick shower during my short layover between flights. The lounge is quite peaceful, and the seating options are posh and comfortable, though the food was a bit limited.
