The American Airlines Flagship Lounges are generally quite nice. I arrived in Chicago off an Aer Lingus flight from Dublin and was very pleased when I finally arrived at the lounge.

These facilities are cut above the Admirals Club lounges, offering a really decent culinary experience in nice surroundings. Let’s have a look at what’s inside.

AA Flagship Lounge Chicago

You pass through lounge reception downstairs and are given a pass to access the Flagship Lounge. Up you go in the lift and when the doors open there is a staff member there dispensing Champagne. Don’t mind if I do!

From there I headed for the food, which is pretty much the same as when I visited in the middle of 2018. You can see what I had right at the top of this article and it was very yummy indeed. Since the lounge was very sparsely populated with people, I went around taking photos.

What I like is how there are lots of dividers in the lounge. It breaks up the space and helps to make things feel more intimate. Dormitory like lounges are never fun, and the choices here means that feeling is avoided.

Overall Thoughts

The American Airlines Flagship Lounge in Chicago is very pleasant. It is spacious, has plenty of food and drink options and loads of options when it comes to sitting and working.

You can find out if you’re eligible to access the lounge on the American Airlines website here. What is nice is that all oneworld Sapphire and Emerald frequent flyers (apart from AAdvantage and Mileage Plan people) have access here at all times.
