Background:

Last summer from a status match, I was able to get Wynn Rewards Platinum. This comes with a $150 Birthday Dinner Credit, and last year I used it at Wing Lei, which was the first Chinese restaurant in North America to earn a Michelin star.

This year I decided to try something new, and I have always seen photos of the nice setting for Lakeside on Wynn’s Lake of Dreams. Naturally, the cuisine of Lakeside focuses on seafood but also has some steak cuts on their menu. Lakeside is open nightly for dinner at 5:30pm, and is located a level below the main lobby.

Seating:

I requested a seat in the covered, heated outdoor patio when I made the reservation. I saw all the photos online beforehand, and it seemed like the best place to sit!

Great outdoor patio and views!

Little did I know, I would be in for a surprise. Every 20 minutes or so, the waterfall would put on a show! I didn’t even know that beforehand. Our waiter told us there are 7 or so different productions. We were able to see a Lady Gaga show, commercial for the new show at Wynn called Awakening, a Holiday Celebration and an outer space show. Some were quite elaborate with props moving in the water or even flying in the air. Such a fun and memorable experience!

Dinner and a show!

Lakeside at Wynn Las Vegas Food:

My parents got two mocktails to start, and both were pretty decent, but a little too much ice! The bread rolls were good, and I enjoyed the crunchy seaweed bread, although it was a bit heavy.

Appetizer + Entrees:

We got the scallops as a starter, and it was pretty good, just a bit small.

For the main entrees, I got the New Zealand Salmon, mom got the Wild Hawaiian Mahi Mahi and dad got the Jidori Chicken Breast.

I enjoyed my salmon, as it was soft in the center and cooked the right amount.

My mom enjoyed the mahi, and dad had no complaints on the chicken. The chicken came with an Au Jus sauce on the side.

We were full and didn’t quite see anything on the dessert menu that we were craving, so we passed on this visit. Perhaps next time we will try something on the dessert menu!

The Verdict:

Overall, I was quite impressed with my meal and experience at Lakeside at Wynn Las Vegas. The great ambiance with the fountain and show, plus the solid food makes for a memorable experience. I will definitely consider coming back for a special occasion.
