Aurigny is a regional airline based in the Channel Islands, which are located off the coast of France. Guernsey and Jersey are Crown Dependencies, meaning they are self-governing possessions of the British Crown. They are not members of the UK, nor are they members of the Commonwealth or the EU.

The airline is based in Guernsey and has been around since the 1960s, making it perhaps one of the oldest airlines you might never have heard of. They operate a fleet comprising of one Embraer 195, four ATR72 turboprops and two Dornier 228 NG.

Aurigny Dublin to Guernsey

The new route has already started, with flights operating three times per week on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Fares seem to be as low as £55.99 each way with hand baggage only, which is £111.98 in total. Aurigny charges £19 extra for a 20kg hold bag or £25 for 23kg, which is on par with similar airlines in Europe.

Those leaving Guernsey will see flights departing at 13:45, arriving in Dublin at 15:20. After a short turnaround, the flights from Dublin leave at 15:50, landing back in the Channel Islands at 17:35. The ATR72 will be the weapon of choice for these flights, which is similar to that operated by Aer Lingus Regional.

Overall Thoughts

Those wanting to book tickets on the new services between Dublin and Guernsey can do so on the Aurigny website. No doubt these flights will be well patronised for those wanting to go back and forth.
