The new year is here and it’s time to think about which flights I want to fly on. Since I live in Los Angeles, I find it convenient to fly to Asia than other parts of the world. In 2018, a few airlines announced new flights and aircraft changes for their 2019 schedule. These are my top 5 flights for 2019 I want to fly to Asia.
5. Singapore Airlines Airbus A350-900ULR Business Class
Last year, I flew Singapore Airlines A380 First Class for the first time. The positive flight experience made me want to fly with them again. Lucky for me, Singapore Airlines re-launched their service from Los Angeles (LAX) to Singapore (SIN) using their new A350-900ULR in November 2018. Sadly, there is no First Class available on this flight but their brand new business class looks amazing. It will make the 17-hour journey more enjoyable.
4. JAL 787-9 Business Class
I love traveling to Japan. It’s my favorite country to visit. When I fly to Japan I have to either fly to Tokyo or Osaka from Los Angeles. Japan Airlines (JAL) is one of two airlines I’ve flown to complete the flying trifecta (economy, business, and first class). JAL currently flies from Los Angeles (LAX) to Osaka (KIX) on their 787-8. I flew this route last year and I wasn’t too impressed with their hard product. The biggest complaint is their business class seats are angle seats and very uncomfortable to sleep in.
Good thing JAL released a statement last year stating on March 31, 2019, they will be introducing their 787-9 Sky Suite on this route. I will be looking forward to taking this route with a seat that actually reclines.
3. Singapore A380 New First Class Suites
While this product has been out for a while, I still want to experience and see what all the hype is about. Singapore Airlines was voted by Skytraxx best airline and best in First Class last year. It’s fair to say flying with Singapore Airlines won’t disappoint, even flying in economy. I will be booking the Shanghai to Singapore route to experience the 6-hour flight in First Class.
2. EVA Air 787-9 Business Class
The new EVA Air business class 787-9 was designed with the help of BMW Designworks. It looks like they hit a grand slam with the look and feel of it. I’m eager to see when the Los Angeles to Taipei route will be released.
1. ANA A380 First Class
ANA will be the first Japanese airline to have an Airbus A380. That being said, their First Class looks incredible! I had the opportunity to fly First Class on their 777-300ER from Tokyo to Los Angeles last year and it was an amazing experience. The all-black theme seat looks sleek and sexy, paired with their well-known cuisine onboard. I’m sure this flight will be one I’ll remember for a long time.
