Background:
Having a First Class or Business Class ticket on Railjet gets you into the OBB Lounges! There are currently 7 lounges: Vienna Central Station, Vienna Meidling, Linz, Salzburg, Graz, Klagenfurt and Innsbruck.
I visited the lounges in Innsbruck, Salzburg and Vienna Central Station. Here are short reviews of each of them!
OBB Lounge Innsbruck
While this was the smallest lounge of the ones I visited, it was the cleanest and emptiest. It was a really nice place to relax and it felt almost brand new! There was wifi (all the stations have wifi themselves), an espresso/coffee maker, and other refreshments in bottles. There were also some crackers and little snacks.
OBB Lounge Salzburg
Now, the OBB Lounge Salzburg did not feel new, in fact it felt a bit tired. It was also quite crowded when I went in. It was bigger than the Innsbruck one, and had a bathroom unlike in Innsbruck. The refreshments and snack selection was identical. Still a nice place to relax.
OBB Lounge Vienna Central Station (Hbf)
Wow! Was this lounge cool. It was on the second floor of the station and had a cool view from the glass windows. It was the biggest lounge of the 3 I visited and it had the same style as the Innsbruck one with new furniture. Same refreshments and snacks as the other lounges, and it too had its own bathroom.
The Verdict:
The OBB lounges are quite a nice way to relax before a train. I would say my favorite lounge was either Innsbruck or Vienna, and it’s a great perk of riding in 1st or Business.

Attractions:
We are from Canada. We took the night train from Vienna to Venice. We had a private couchette. While we were sleeping somebody had opened the lock from outside and stole all of our money. We complained to the company and they keep changing what they say every time which makes the situation very frustrating and suspicious. They make up stories and change them next day. We lost around 1000 Euros in cash. I am writing this review because I do not want this to happen to anybody else. This ruined our vacation. I am a very careful person and I never thought this would happen to me. OBB is telling me that this is totally normal and obvious that any lock can be opened and manipulated from outside and we do not think it was necessary to tell you. Please do not take any trips with them since they are totally dishonest. I am not a heavy sleeper but I am sure somebody with lots of experience has done it and took the money from 3 different locations.
I’m sorry that happened to you!
If you have a credit card check if you travel insurance covers such happenings. First thing you should”ve done is to get a report from a Policestation onsite. Since the valuables were stolen from a locked compartement and the OEBB is an Austrian State angency I would also consider immediate report of this incident to the next Ambessy thats responsible for you, this worked wonders when my Laptop was stolen on a railjet ride. The people at the Vienna US Ambessy helped me to get in touch with someone who felt truly responsible at OEBB at it turned out that OEBB is insured for such cases and I was able to get 50% of the laptops worth reimbursed since it was taken from a non locked place.
Remember that the people working for the Trains costumer service have their hand literally tied behind their back (and most likley one too many pimples since such positions are often staffed with teens) and are only trained to handle at most service related incidents not criminal charges, which is way above their paycheck.
Hope this helps someone somewhere sometime in the near future.
