What’s it like flying Turkish Airlines business class from Istanbul to Dublin?

The Flight Detective

The last sector of my trip saw me flying Turkish Airlines business class from Istanbul to Dublin. My connection was fairly short, so I didn’t bother heading to the lounge, particularly after finding it so busy on the way out.

That meant a walk around IST, which is enormous, before finding my gate. Once again there was a little wait before boarding was called and I was one of the first on board.

TK1975 – Istanbul to Dublin (IST-DUB)
21 March 2026
Airbus A321neo – TC-LTC
Seat: Business Class 1A
Departure: 08:00 Arrival: 09:40

My original seat was 2A and I got unlucky with someone sat beside me. When I heard what I presumed was “Boarding Complete” in Turkish over the PA, I asked the crew if I had deduced that correctly. When that was confirmed, I asked to move to 1A as all of row one was empty. They agreed, so I moved before we pushed back. Phew!

Turkish Airlines A321neo Business Class

There are five rows of business class on the Airbus A321neo used for the Dublin flights. Seats are in pairs and feature a little privacy screen at head level that you can pull out.

Seats feature plenty of leg room, a generous entertainment screen and are quite comfortable. All in all it’s a pleasant cabin for a European flight and certainly beats a middle seat free Euro-business product!

Welcome Drinks and the Menu

I like a welcome drink and when flying Turkish Airlines business class you get one. It was a non-alcoholic juice and was quite tasty. Menus are handed out and I had a look to see what was on offer for breakfast.

You also receive a hot towel prior to departure. Hot towels are always welcome to wipe off the airport, as you do get a little sweaty having hoofed it around an enormous facility like Istanbul.

Flying Turkish at Breakfast Time

Once everyone was on board, we had the video safety demonstration and took to the sky. At breakfast, everyone gets the same thing to start with and then you have a choice for the main course. First up though are drinks, nuts and even a little chocolate.

Next up comes the starter. This is “Süzme” yoghurt with fresh fruits and homemade granola, along with four little bowls. One has white cheese and marinated olives, tomatoes and cucumber, while another has “Acuka” (a spread). A third one has honeycomb from Erzincan with “Kaymak” clotted cream from Afyon. Finally, there’s one with “Kaşar” cheese and turkey breast. All of it is very nice indeed, particularly the honeycomb, but I always did have a sweet tooth. Happily it’s also nice and light, which means there’s plenty of room for the main course. For me, I elected to have the smoked turkey, cheese and spinach wrap, though it was a hard choice as the poached eggs benedict sounded wonderful too. I absolutely did not expect the wrap to be swimming in mornay sauce, but it turned out to be delicious. Next time I should pay more attention to the menu.

Entertainment and Toilets

There is a pretty good selection of entertainment on board and I hit a few more episodes of Band of Brothers during the flight. Some of it was hard going but it’s a very well put together series. There is other HBO content as well, which is good.

I also visited the facilities up the front and found everything spic and span as you’d hope. That was pretty much all that happened and we landed in Dublin on time. My bag was one of the first out, which I always appreciate as a business class customer.

Overall Thoughts

Flying Turkish Airlines business class on a five hour flight from Istanbul to Dublin is very fine. Breakfast can frequently be rotten on a flight, but that was not the case here. Poached eggs are the only eggs that should be served on a plane so I was happy to see them on the menu, even if I didn’t select them.

The wrap and all the other bits certainly pleased me and were perfect for the morning. Service was friendly, the entertainment system had plenty of options and the seat is spacious and comfortable. What’s not to like? I’d fly TK again without hesitation.
