Highlights: Napa Valley Marriott Hotel & Spa
This was a lovely, lovely getaway from the Bay Area after getting married! A short minimoon is just what we needed. This Marriott is a short jaunt from downtown Napa and a great staging ground for wine tasting and touring. Highlights include the wonderful spa – where our kind friends treated us to a massage, as well as my first facial and manicure.
LOBBY & CHECK-IN
On first impression, the Napa Valley Marriott lobby was open and spacious, with the checkin being immediately on the left. While we did not secure an upgrade, we did not plan to spend that much time in our room anyway. Our friends were upgraded to a presidential suite and offered to trade with us, but by that time we had already dumped our items. The lobby area includes a small store with Pepsi products and other essentials, as well as their business center, lobby bar, and an afternoon wine tasting area.
ROOM
Our room was a basic king. and quite dark when we arrived. The bottle of bubbly was a nice welcome amenity and useful for celebration. I liked the adorable indoor cottage views.
HOTEL SPACE / AMBIANCE
Of course, Napa is famous for wine, so at the afternoon/evening wine session there were plenty of couples and professionals about. The spa was relaxing and enjoyable as well! They had a nice seating area, were very pleasant to talk to, and offered great service. The ambiance here is so relaxing I would definitely look to come back.
FOOD & DRINK
As we had breakfast plans I opted for the points amenity instead of breakfast. I did check out their lounge which had non-alcoholic drinks, and a honor bar for beer. They also had a machine pouring wine, also on the honor bar system. Their afternoon snacks were quite good for what I expected – with crab cake sliders and pigs in a blanket.
FITNESS
The fitness center was located inside the spa area, which is a separate building from the main hotel area. As we had plans I ended up missing out on the gym. I did peek in and see that it was pretty small for the size, but I doubt most people come to Napa to work out anyway.
MISCELLANEOUS
Lastly, we spent a lot of time in Napa outside the hotel. Eating at great places like the Lobby Bar @ the Archer Hotel or an amazing barbeque restaurant called Bounty Hunter in downtown Napa was a great experience. We also dined at the Michelin starred French Laundry in Yountville – check out a full review of my dining experience here! Perhaps next time I’ll sample the breakfast/hotel food, but as I did not plan the itinerary I had to make do. It’s only about a 7 minute drive to downtown, so if you’re tipsy or worse, take a Lyft!

Thanks for the review. I was considering staying here when in Napa along with the Andaz but got lucky and ended up staying at the Los Alcobas on points instead. This place looks like a great option too though!
Haven’t seen either! Lady’s stayed at Andaz but I’m not familiar with Los Alcobas. This place was ok!
Los Alcobas is a gorgeous Luxury Collection property right next to Beringer in St. Helena. But they’re now Marriott Cat 8 and their cash prices are absurd. Service seems to be inconsistent too, as our stay was excellent, but I see quite a few negative ones on travel boards these days. Worth checking out if you’re planning on spending time in your room, though.
IN that area I think Lady would kill me if we spent too much time on property!
Haha. Same. That’s why I booked the Marriott first. If I couldn’t swing the whole Los Alcobas on points, that was going to be a no-go. Would love to go back, but I can’t fathom spending 85,000 points per night!
At 85K it’d have to be amazing. Just can’t justify that cost!
nice u got a bottle of bubbly!!We blocked 20 rooms for our daughters wedding and did not get a bottle??
We got married! Your daughter should have gotten at least an upgrade and bubbly. I also tell them before checkin so they were able to prep for it.
