Remember the woman who was seen on video leaving her an alligator at Terminal 3 of Chicago O’Hare (ORD) Airport in November (my previous post here)?

A 29-year-old suburban Chicago woman (now with blonde hair) has been arrested for the incident and charged with animal cruelty and reckless conduct.

According to a police report, the defendant had been spotted on surveillance cameras on the CTA Blue Line (see inset) holding the gator and then entering the lower level of ORD Terminal 3 around 2:45a.m., where she let it loose (on purpose or by accident?) and it was spotted and recovered by ORD staff.

The Chicago Tribune reports she stated to police:

“[I] was so [high] on crack cocaine and heroin and had taken some pills [I lost the gator after coming to the airport].”

The 25-inch alligator, named “Allie” by ORD staff, was in poor health and turned over to the care of the Chicago Herpetological Society.
