Craving some winter sun? Then, we have some good news for U.K. travelers. British Airways announced today the addition of flights to sunny destinations next winter. If you are dreaming about St. Lucia, Cape Town or Cancun, we have good news for you. That’s because is BA is launching more flights from London to those sunny spots.
Virgin Atlantic will halt its flights to St. Lucia after June 8, 2020. Not to worry, though! British Airways will offer nine flights per week, two more than the airline offered last winter. That makes it the only carrier to offer regular, multi-weekly flights between the U.K. and St. Lucia.
Mexico will also be more accessible to British travelers. Starting Dec.6, 2020, the airline will add extra Sunday service to Cancun, bringing the number of weekly flights to six. Yes, more winter sun for you!
19 Flights to Cape Town
Beginning Jan. 1, 2021, British Airways will add two flights a week from London to Cape Town. That means customers can choose from 19 flights a week from London to Cape Town. That’s in addition to 14 flights to Johannesburg and three to Durban.
Craving Warmth in the Winter
“We know our customers crave some winter warmth as these are incredibly popular destinations,” said Adam Carson, British Airways’ Managing Director of London Gatwick. “To make it even easier to get there, we’re increasing the number of flights to St Lucia, Cancun and Cape Town from London Gatwick and we’ve put them on days that work well to maximize travelers’ time and annual leave.”
