Cathay Pacific is one of my favourite oneworld alliance airlines. The news that their world renowned The Pier first class lounge reopens today has made me very happy.
The airline has suffered from external turmoil over the past few years and some people, including me, wondered if they would get through it. Happily they are back generating cash and the outlook seems to be positive.
The Pier Reopens!
Imagine a place where you step onto the carpet and are immediately struck by how soft and welcoming it feels underfoot. A place with a superlative design aesthetic with service to match.
When I first entered The Pier, I remember thinking “I love everything about this!” and that opinion has never changed. The lounge just resonated with me on every level and no other lounge has made such an impression on me.
If that isn’t a reason to visit Hong Kong, I don’t know what is. Well, I do actually… you could also take a Hong Kong Foodie Tour which I did and really enjoyed. Such a fine city with some excellent cuisine.
Overall Thoughts
Do your best to book flights to or through Hong Kong, because The Pier reopens today, which is a happy day indeed. Yes, I know I’m giddy over an airline lounge, but I’m allowed to be.
Now all I need is Cathay Pacific to get their Paris lounge back up and running and all will be right with the world. I mean, where else are British Airways passengers supposed to go in the French capital?
What do you think of Cathay Pacific’s The Pier first class lounge in Hong Kong? Are you happy it’s back? Thank you for reading and if you have any comments or questions, please leave them below.
