Best Steakhouse in Las Vegas (It’s Not on the Strip!)

Hanks Fine Steaks and Martinis

You would never picture finding a fancy steakhouse inside the Green Valley Ranch Resort and Casino in Henderson, 10 miles from the strip.

Hanks Fine Steaks and Martinis

A couple of years ago, I found this gem online as it had really good reviews and a high Zagat rating. My family and I decided to try it and it has become our favorite steakhouse in Vegas! So for us, this is the best steakhouse in Vegas, and we even like the steaks more than your typical chains (Flemings, Mastro’s, Mortons).

Hanks Fine Steaks and Martinis received the AAA 4 Diamond Award, along with Steakhouses on the Strip such as Prime (Bellagio), SW Steakhouse (Wynn), etc.

Inside:

There’s a HUGE difference inside and outside Hank’s. Green Valley Ranch doesn’t look like a hotel that would spot a restaurant this elegant. I mean, Green Valley Ranch is a nice 4 star hotel, but this restaurant could be inside Wynn/Palazzo/Bellagio.

Upon entering, there is a huge bar which is always quite lively every time I visit. There is also live music in the bar. Then, as you walk in past the bar, you enter the main dining room and the very back has a private dining room.

The Food:

We started off with a Steakhouse Salad which was very good! As a side, we shared the Green Beans which was crunchy just how I like them. I ordered the Filet Mignon and it was cooked perfectly (same as mom). They did undercook Dad’s New York Strip, but we just asked for a hot plate and it solved the problem!

And of course, we had to try some dessert! The crème brûlée is top notch! Not to eggy, and with the perfect crunch on the top caramel layer.

The Verdict:

Hank’s has a special place in my heart… errrr stomach 🙂 It’s a really good steakhouse in a place you would least expect to have one!

  1. My favorite steak in Vegas, or anywhere, is at Charlie Palmer at the Four Seasons. I’ve eaten there at least 15 times now and have yet to have a meal that was not excellent. But I am always up for new places so I’ll give Hank’s a try.

  2. I try to get to the Golden Steer on Sahara (one block from the Stratosphere) whenever I visit Vegas. It’s old school all the way, and a former Rat-pack favorite, with memorabilia throughout. Great steaks and seafood. A must is the Caesar salad prepared at your table.

  3. Another really good one is Andiamo Italian Steakhouse at The D on Fremont street. They have this giant 32 ounce rib-eye that they call a tomahawk. It’s not cheap by any means, but the food is amazing.
