Background:

I was departing from Auckland Airport’s International Terminal for my Virgin Australia flight to Sydney. I was happy to discover that there was a Priority Pass Lounge for use here. The Strata Lounge at Auckland Airport is the only Priority Pass lounge inside the airport. It’s open from 5am to 1am daily.

The Lounge:

Just past security, the lounge is located on the 2nd floor next to the Qantas Lounge. The lounge is pretty spacious and has nice views of the shopping part of the terminal. I entered around 1pm as my flight was at 4pm.

Seating is plentiful, and there’s free WiFi at the lounge. The WiFi was pretty fast which was nice.

There is a bar, and food selection was pretty good. International lounges are normally much better than domestic US Priority Pass Lounges, and the Strata Lounge is a fine example of that.

They had 2 soups and 4 hot dishes- lamb spaghetti, cauliflower, mushroom gnocchi and another vegetable option. Sushi was served for a bit too, and then they ran out. There was a choice of salads, and some snacks as well.

There are shower rooms as well, and they look pretty nice!

Also, there’s a nice quiet area with computers set up, and a table with a tv that can serve as a conference room with sliding doors for privacy.

a room with a black table and chairs

The Verdict:

If you’re travelling through Auckland Airport, the Strata Lounge is a pretty nice lounge to hang out before a flight.

Happy travels,

Ty
