Background
Before my Aer Lingus flight from Dublin to Amsterdam, I visited the Liffey Lounge in Dublin Terminal 2. The terminal itself is quite mid, so I was happy to have a lounge to access.
Hours & Access
The Liffey Lounge Dublin Terminal 2 is open from 4 am to 9 pm daily. I accessed with my Priority Pass membership, and their website does state that access may be restricted during the hours of 11 am and 3 pm daily.
Once you clear security, turn right and follow the signs to “Airline Lounges.” Access is via the lift or escalator directly along the Airline Lounge corridor. Note: the lounge is not available after US Preclearance. Once on the lower level, walk down the corridor, and you’ll see the entrance to The Liffey Lounge immediately on the left.
Thankfully, once we checked in at the desk, there was space, and the lounge attendant guided us to our seats. I assume that due to limited space, they decided to assign seats rather than let you choose your own.
You can also buy access to the lounge, from €29 per adult online & from €35 per adult at reception.
Liffey Lounge Dublin
The lounge is essentially one long room, with a variety of seating arrangements. And on the far left side of the lounge is a buffet section, with cold cuts, a soda machine, a tea machine, and lots of prepackaged snacks. There are also a lot of prepackaged salads and sandwiches.

Next to the buffet section are a variety of dining style seats, but I was assigned to the other side of the lounge with armchairs. There is also high-top seating along the windows.

The seats were a bit stained, could use a steam clean.

In the back corner of the lounge, there is also an area with communal workstations.
The lounge has four individual bathrooms, two being reserved for men and two for women.
The Verdict
Overall, the Liffey Lounge Dublin Terminal 2 was a fine spot to relax in before a flight, given that Dublin Airport Terminal 2 isn’t the nicest. There was a pretty decent variety of food, though the space is kind of small.

My experience at The Liffey Lounge in Dublin Airport was nothing short of infuriating – and frankly, it calls into question the integrity of the entire Priority Pass partnership.
I attempted to visit around 11:00 AM on a day when the airport was noticeably uncrowded. As an AMEX Platinum cardholder with Priority Pass access, I expected at least a baseline level of professionalism and fairness. Instead, I was denied entry at the door the moment I confirmed I was using Priority Pass.
What happened next was even more concerning. The doorman informed the gentleman ahead of me that the lounge was “full” for Priority Pass members – but then casually offered to let him in for €20. In other words, access was apparently available… just not for those using the membership they’ve already paid for. It felt less like standard capacity control and more like opportunistic cash-grabbing.
When I asked to be placed on a waiting list, I was initially brushed off and told I wouldn’t get in. After pushing, I was reluctantly added – but never received any follow-up, even after waiting three hours. Not a call, not an update, nothing.
This isn’t just poor service – it undermines the entire premise of Priority Pass and AMEX Platinum benefits. If lounges can arbitrarily deny access to members while simultaneously selling spots at the door, what exactly are customers paying for?
Based on this experience and judging by similar reviews online – this doesn’t appear to be an isolated incident. It’s disappointing, unprofessional, and reflects poorly on all parties involved. AMEX and Priority Pass should seriously reconsider their association with this lounge unless these practices are addressed.
Bottom line: avoid if you’re relying on Priority Pass. You may be treated as second-class unless you’re willing to pay extra on the spot.
Sorry to hear about your experience, that is frustrating! Thanks for sharing about your experience and reading.
