This is a throwback post! I forgot that I haven’t reviewed my stay at the Juniper Hotel Cupertino. It is currently part of Hilton, as part of the Curio Collection. Previously, the Juniper Hotel was a Kimpton Hotel and it was called the Cypress Hotel.

Background:

I needed a place to stay in NorCal for my visit to Berkeley last year after getting admitted. I choose to stay at the Juniper Hotel Cupertino as my aunt previously stayed there and said it was good! Plus, I really liked the Cupertino area from previous visits.

Arrival:

I arrived late at night, and I did like how they had a parking garage. Check-in was a bit slow, as at night only one person was working the desk. Other than that it was fine. The lobby was kind of nice, with cool chairs and a very modern decor.

The Room:

The room was a decent size but it just did not feel like a 4 star hotel. The bathroom was small and very standard, it felt like a Courtyard. The beds were fine but nothing special. The issue was the room just didn’t feel fresh and the room was dusty.

On a more personal preference, the room was quite dark and I personally don’t like it when rooms are very dark because to me they feel less welcoming and I feel stains/dirt can easily hide in dark rooms.

Breakfast was good though!

On a happier note, I did quite enjoy the breakfast! The fruits were very fresh and the eggs were cooked perfectly. The restaurant at the hotel is quite nice.

The Verdict:

Overall I had higher expectations for the Juniper Hotel Cupertino. Not quite an amazing 4 star experience, but depending on the price you pay it is still a solid hotel (more like 3.5 star hotel).
