Background and Location
Before my SAS flight to Oslo, I visited the Lufthansa Business Lounge at London Heathrow. Since SAS reintroduced European Business Class, my international premium Economy ticket from New York had our intra-Europe legs in Business Class, so I received lounge access before my intra-Europe legs. SAS doesn’t have its own lounge in London, so they use the Lufthansa Lounge at London Heathrow (LHR) as a contract lounge because its flights depart from Terminal 2, whereas most SkyTeam airlines (and their dedicated lounges) are located in Terminal 4.
The lounge is located in Terminal 2A, shortly after Passport Control and Security Checkpoint. Just turn right and proceed to the end of the hallway, and you’ll see the lounge entrance. I’ve only visited the Lufthansa Lounges in New York (JFK) before, so I was curious to see how this one would be.
The opening hours are 5 am to 10 pm.
Access
Lounge access is available complimentary to:
- Star Alliance Business Class passengers
- Miles & More Frequent Travellers
- SAS Business Class passengers
- Until October 1st 2026, American Express has a partnership with this lounge. If you are flying Economy on a Lufthansa Group airline, you can gain access with the Platinum Card. If you are flying in Business Class on a Lufthansa Group airline, you can access the upgraded Senator Lounge.
The Lounge
As you enter, there is a wall of magazines and some private phone rooms.

Then, there is a work area with a hightop and desk-level seating.

As you enter the main lounge, there is a mix of dining-style seats and standard seats to relax.

The buffet and food stations are located towards the back. During my dinnertime visit at 7 pm, I nibbled for a light dinner to also supplement the light meal that would be provided on board my SAS Business Class flight.
The All Day Menu for hot food items at the lounge showed:
- Roasted Pepper and Red Tomato Soup
- Steamed Herbed Potatoes
- Roasted Carrots and Beetroot
- Roasted Cauliflower & Chickpea Stew
- Tuscan Garlic Chicken with Spinach and Sundried Tomatoes

I found the food to be quite tasty, and enjoyed the soup, cauliflower & chicken.
In addition, there is a selection of wine, spirits, beer, and soft drinks. There is also a station with sweets and desserts.
At the back of the Lufthansa Business Lounge is a door marked “Senator Lounge”, which is for First Class passengers and higher-status members.
There was an on-site restroom with separate men & womens, so you don’t have to wander into the terminal.
The Verdict
Overall, the Lufthansa Business Lounge London Heathrow Terminal 2 was a nice spot to relax before a flight and offered a pretty decent food selection.
