Upon landing, the aircraft was unable to come to a stop on runway 11. The aircraft then slid down a steep cliff, losing one of its engines as it slid down the incline. The Boeing 737-800 stopped just feet from the Black Sea.

Pegasus Airlines is a Turkish low-cost carrier with an impeccable safety record. This is the airline’s second incident in nearly 30 years of operation. The flight, Pegasus PC8622, was operated by a 5-year old Boeing 737-800 bearing the registration TC-CPF.

As of 6:20 AM Central Time, it appears ice on the runway is being blamed for the runway excursion. I will update this post as more details are made available.
