My Quickest 10 Second Lounge Visit to the Admirals Club (SNA)

Admirals Club (SNA)

Background:

After my American Airlines Flagship Business class flight from New York (JFK) to Orange County (SNA), I noticed that the Admirals Club was just a gate away from my arrival gate. I had a great experience at the Greenwich Lounge in New York before boarding my flight, so I was curious to see what the lounge offering in Orange County would be like. I’d flown out of Orange County (SNA) numerous times before, but have never accessed a lounge here. There are 2 lounges, a United Club and an American Airlines Admirals Club.

Location:

The Admirals Club (SNA) is right in front of gate 8. You can take the elevator to the 2nd floor, or the stairs. The lounge looks down at the gate areas below, and you’re able to see the runway from a distance. Hours of operation are 5:15 a.m. – 8:45 p.m. Monday-Saturday, and 6:15 a.m. to 8:45 p.m. on Sunday.

My Visit:

I’ve only been to a few Admiral Clubs (DEN, LAX, JFK, BOS come to mind) and this was the smallest one I’ve been to. I was thinking of grabbing a quick snack and using the bathroom before heading out of the airport, but I ended up only staying in the lounge for 10 seconds. I quickly had my boarding pass scanned and the associate at the front desk was very friendly, but then I noticed that the lounge was packed and the bathrooms were closed for cleaning.

Admirals Club (SNA)
Crowded!

I saw a full bar, and some snacks lying around in a small buffet area. I snapped a picture of the room of seats and then headed out. It was way too crowded and small in there. I knew it was time to leave!

The Verdict:

Next time, perhaps I’d like to visit the lounge before a departing flight and sample the snack offerings. Hopefully, it won’t be as crowded too!
