The gathering will mark the second Travel Update Reader Meet-Up event, where we bring our digital connections to life. Expect to geek out about travel, social media and news over drinks and appetizers, and I’ll interview a hotel executive about the new property.
Two months ago, 25 of us gathered for Travel Update’s very first Reader Meet-Up at the newly built Marriott Marquis hotel in Washington D.C., which is my “backyard.”
But this time, we’ll meet up in my “old backyard,” since I lived just across the causeway from Miami Beach while working as a Miami Herald reporter. Some of my old friends and sources will be joining us, too.
What will be fun about this blog launch meet-up is that I’ll have some news to tell you — plus we’ll get to explore the brand new hotel. The event will be held at the property’s chic outdoor courtyard (yes, that’s right, I just gave you a hint!) Afterwards, I’ll post a story and photos of our experience.
