American Express has started the year with some exciting welcome bonuses. Just last week, I wrote about the amazing 150,000 points welcome bonus on the Amex Platinum card. Similarly, American Express is also out with a lot of Hilton points on offer with their co branded Hilton credit cards.
ELEVATED WELCOME BONUSES ON CO-BRANDED HILTON CREDIT CARDS
American Express offers four credit cards from the Hilton portfolio. Amex also offers a direct conversion of Membership Rewards points into Hilton Honors points at a 1:2 ratio. Currently, Amex is offering higher than usual welcome bonuses on all four of their co-branded Hilton credit cards.
130,000 POINTS: HILTON HONORS CARD ($0 ANNUAL FEE)
If you’re looking to get a co-branded Hilton card but only stay at a Hilton a few times each year, then this is the best option for you. Firstly, the card charges no annual fee. Secondly, this limited time welcome offer is way higher than the standard bonus of 80,000 points.
You’ll earn a welcome bonus of 130,000 points after you meet the minimum spend required. This bonus is broken down into two bits. You’ll earn a bonus of 80,000 points after you spend $1,000 in the first 3 months. Additionally, you’ll earn another 50,000 points if you spend a total of $5,000 in the first 6 months of card membership.

180,000 POINTS: HILTON HONORS AMERICAN EXPRESS SURPASS CARD
This mid tier card is perfect if you book stays with Hilton multiple times during the year. It has amazing value for the annual fee that it charges. For a $95 annual fee, you get complimentary Gold elite status and other amazing benefits.
With the current welcome bonus, you’ll earn a total of 180,000 points. You’ll earn 130,000 Hilton points after you spend $2,000 in the first three months. Additionally, you’ll earn 50,000 Hilton points after you spend a total of $10,000 in the first 6 months of card membership.

150,000 POINTS + 1 FREE NIGHT: HILTON ASPIRE CARD
If you’re like me and Hilton is your primary hotel chain of choice, then this card is a perfect fit for you. In addition to the amazing welcome bonus, you’ll also get complimentary top tier Diamond elite status. Moreover, you’ll get a free weekend night simply for renewing the card. It gets better! For a card with a $450 annual fee, you’ll get a $250 airline fee credit (every calendar year) and a $250 resort credit (every card anniversary year). The welcome bonus is just the cherry on top.
You’ll earn a welcome bonus of 150,000 Hilton Honors points and one free weekend night after you spend $4,000 in purchases in the first three months.

The welcome bonus on the Hilton Business card is pretty similar to the one with the Hilton Surpass card. If you’re looking to get a Hilton credit card without denting your Chase 5/24 tally, then the Hilton Honors Business Card could be a better option.

THE PUNDIT’S MANTRA
Overall, these are some solid credit card offers to start the year. As I’ve outlined in previous posts, I still continue to carry the Hilton Aspire card in my wallet, given its annual free night and the $500+ in credits that I’m usually able to maximize each year.
