Airplane Inspiration: Airplane Inspiration American Airlines 777

In order to keep everyone’s spirits up while most of us are stuck at home, I decided to start a new photography campaign. Airplane Inspiration will be a series of photographs published that showcase an airline/aircraft/airplanes from my photo bank. Today’s airplane inspiration is American Airlines 777.

I took this photo from the Miami Airport Centurion Lounge. American Airlines is the largest airline in Miami and for a long time operated mainly 777s from the airport. With the COVID19 crisis, the airline has started moving to a mixed fleet of 787s and 777s. With the introduction of the 787, we can expect the end of the 757s and 767s in Miami. These airframes were already on the way out, but this retired them even sooner. 

 

Airline Snapshot

American Airlines is the largest airline in the United States (and the world). They have carried the largest number of passengers every year since the merger between old American Airlines and US Airways. The airline has its primary South and Central American hub at Miami, with a select series of flights to Europe. With three Admirals Clubs and one Flagship Lounge, American has revamped its premium presence at the airport in the last few years.
