One of the most irritating things about frequent flyer programmes are when miles don’t arrive as expected. Having to make miles claims can be an arduous process, to the extent that you sometimes even need to furnish boarding passes to prove that you have flown on a particular flight.
In my experience, the airlines usually get it right and the IT works. Points arrive when they should, even if they occasionally take a little while to credit. That means I have only rarely had to go through the manual claims process.
Miles Claims with Aegean
I recently booked flights to Australia with Ethiopian, which meant I needed a Star Alliance programme to credit flights to. Aegean was a natural choice as they have a decent frequent flyer programme in Miles+Bonus, plus they seem to be a pretty good quality carrier.
After the first half of the trip, I logged in and entered in the claim. First one flight and then the second and both came up with a green notification that they were successfully submitted. All well and good, so next I wondered how long it would be until they appeared.
Overall Thoughts
Miles claims with Aegean’s Miles+Bonus seem to be really simple. I have never had an instance in the past where the missing miles have just automatically posted. They have always had to have the intervention of a human being from what I can gather, so this is remarkable.
Now all I need to do is complete some sectors on Aegean or Olympic to unlock the status. Once I return, I should have enough for Gold, so I will be just four flights away. I’ve always enjoyed visiting Greece, so it’ll be simple enough to do.

Same here. Could not enter my A3# for a recent UA flight. Was dreading having to follow up manually after the fact, but it was so simple. Kudos to A3
Glad to hear it wasn’t a once off! It really was just a wonderful experience 🙂
