Déjà vu! A year later and American Airlines have the exact same meal choices in business class!

What a difference a year makes! Well, maybe not so much, as it’s a year later and I am flying American Airlines business class again. I had a strange sense of déjà vu when I checked out the menu online.

It kept nagging at me until I went back and had a look at my previous articles. Lo and behold, I was right, the menu for my forthcoming flight is the same as last year.

A Year Later And No Change

When I say the same, I mean exactly the same in every respect. I wrote about the menu on 28 December 2021 for my upcoming 25 January 2022 flight, showing the menu. Notice anything familiar? Yes, the menu there is the same as this one from today for my flight in February.

My flight last year was London Heathrow to New York JFK, while this time I am flying Dublin to Philadelphia. Has the menu rotated from the UK to Ireland and I’ve just got lucky? Or are all the menus Europe to the USA the same as last year? I’ve often mentioned in my Qatar Airways business class flight reviews that a lot of the menu items are the repeated. I was quite surprised to find the same with American Airlines.

Overall Thoughts

A year later and it will be another Sous-vide Flat Iron Steak for me. I really enjoyed it last year, and I might as well have it again. The other choices remain tempting, but as I almost never eat red meat at home, beef or steak is usually my go to when flying.

I wonder how often the menus are rotated and how this is done at American Airlines. Either way, I’m not complaining as the oneworld alliance airline does offer an excellent transatlantic business class product.

Have you found the same meals before when flying on American or another airline? How does that make you feel – do you enjoy the familiarity or get bored? Thank you for reading and if you have any comments or questions, please leave them below.
