I needed a hotel in Downtown Denver for my one-night pre conference stay. Originally, I planned to use points and stay at the Hyatt Place Cherry Creek (which took over the former Loews) for 4k Hyatt Points + 55 USD as many of the hotels in Denver were expensive for my specific date!
Then just a week before my trip, i stumbled upon a $110 4 Star in Downtown Denver with Hotwire Hot Rates! They don’t tell you the hotel name until you book, so you have to match amenities and the TripAdvisor rating to find out which hotel it could be. I pulled up Better Bidding to assist with matching the amenities, and concluded it was the Westin Denver Downtown (formerly called the Westin Tabor Center). Booked, and sure enough it was the Westin!
Rates direct with Westin were $250, so $110 was an absolute steal! Like i said, rates for this friday night in Denver were really high, I remember the Sheraton was even $200. To save $140, I’m willing to forgo SPG points.

QUICK SUMMARY: Overall, the Westin shines with its great location to explore Downtown Denver and the renovated rooms are nice, but cleanliness is a bit lacking.
I arrived with my friends pretty late around 10 P.M. There was no line at check in, and I was helped immediately. The front desk was nice, but they said that they were out of rooms with 2 Queen Beds, so they gave me an “View” room on the 15th floor with a King and one rollaway. I didn’t really mind as I just wanted to sleep, and there were 3 of us. Technically with 3, king and a rollaway is more comfortable because the people sharing have a bigger bed to share. And, with Westin it’s better because the rollaway IS a Heavenly Bed as well. Many hotels have rollaways that are NOT the same as the main beds, which sucks if you’re stuck with the rollaway.
The room was recently renovated, with new carpeting and nice furnishings. The only exception was with the bathroom, which had a gaudy pink marble sink and a tub that needed some TLC. The tub had seen its better days.
The room was generally clean, except for the tub, a stain on the sheets and food on the floor around the chair. Not the cleanest, but not horrible either. The Westin Heavenly Bed was up to par, per the words of my friends, and my Heavenly Rollaway was good as well. We all got a pretty good night’s rest.
Our view was pretty nice! One pet peeve of the room was how bright the lights were in the bathroom! To use the restroom during the night, once you turn on the lights you’re immediately blinded!
SERVICE AND AMENITIES:
Service was decent. The front desk attendants were very nice, but the person who delivered my rollaway seemed very tired and did not even say hi. He came in, and ran out panting. And he took 30 minutes to come….
I visited the pool and fitness center, which seemed quite nice. PLUS: They have an indoor basketball court?! Awesome.
Like i mentioned earlier the location is great, right on 16th street only a few steps away from shops and restaurants. We even managed to walk all the way to Sports Authority Field (Had to see my Broncos!). For visiting the capital and botanical gardens we opted to just Uber.
Overall, the Westin Denver Downtown was certainly not the worst Westin I’ve stayed at nor the best. I would give the hotel another try if the price is right, and I hope in the meantime they up their cleanliness and maybe renovate the bathroom?

Great review. Thanks!
I would recommend that when I use Betterbidding.com I also use https://www.ibidlow.com to reveal the hotels in advance. Sometimes I also use HotelsDealsreveal.com or Bidding4Travel.com
