Background:

I booked the Hilton Innsbruck for my visit to the city for 130 EUR a night. I was originally planned to stay 2 nights, but it got shortened to 1 night after my flight delay which I reviewed previously.

A couple days ago, I wrote about the Delta flight that caused me to arrive a day late, and also the 9 hour flight to Zurich that had broken in flight entertainment.

Luckily, my train allowed me to arrive an hour early so I could have more time to explore Innsbruck! Railjet’s second class sure was nice.

QUICK SUMMARY: Overall, the Hilton Innsbruck was a solid place to stay, but a bit outdated.

The Hilton Innsbruck has a 4.0/5.0 rating on TripAdvisor. You can view the Hilton and other Innsbruck hotels here on TripAdvisor.

Arrival/Location:

The hotel was only a 5-10 minute walk from the main train station. The hotel itself is kind of in a funny spot, partially connected to a casino and next to some adult clubs…

It was a nice stroll to the Old Town/heart of the city, only 5-10 minutes by foot.

On the bright side, there was no casino smoke evident in the lobby. The lobby was quite interesting, with parts being modern and the front desk looking very old-school. I thought I was somewhere isolated on a mountain lodge decades ago.

The grab and go snack store in the lobby also served as the business center, with 2 computers set up. Not a true business center, but it gets the job done.

The Room:

Thankfully, the room was much better than the old style lobby. Well, at least the bedroom part of it haha. The bathroom had very interesting orange tiles! While the bathroom was very outdated,  at least it was clean.

The room had 2 double beds, and the beds were fine, except that the comforter was too thin! The comforter was almost just a sheet.

Service and Amenities:

The front desk was very nice and helpful. They offered a breakfast special, $28 for 2 if you prepay a day in advance.

Housekeeping was interesting, the one on my floor would blast music in the rooms and I could hear it in when I would be in hallway. Not complaining as I didn’t hear it from my room, just found it a bit peculiar.

Breakfast:

Breakfast was really good! It was served in their steakhouse, and the buffet offered a pretty good selection. And, they did eggs made to order! Service was good too. A solid 4 star hotel breakfast.

The Verdict:

It was a good spot to stay for my short visit to Innsbruck. If I come back, I could see myself staying here again if the price is right, or maybe I’ll opt to try out the fancier Adler’s (which was more than double the price of the Hilton!)
