Hotels in Cleveland can be extremely expensive on weekends when sporting events are on. My first night there was at the Hilton Garden Inn Cleveland Airport, because it was half the price of city hotels.
I arrived around midnight into Cleveland and friends collected me and took me on the short drive to the hotel. After I bid them goodbye, it was time to head inside.
Check-In
Since it was so late, I had to buzz in and soon entered the lobby. This was really quite nicely set up with places to sit in a relaxing environment and it also features a small reception desk.
A Hilton Garden Inn Cleveland Airport Room
As far as hotel rooms go, this one was quite pleasant. In addition to all the usual suspects, it featured a coffee maker and even a microwave oven. Handy for those long stays, I’m sure!
How About The Rest?
The bathroom is pretty standard, with a shower over tub combination and plenty of white towels. Toiletries are from Neutrogena and still come in the little sizes. Everything was in good repair, which is to be expected.
Fitness, Pool and Spa
In the morning I went for a nice long run, great for clearing the head after a flight. The area around the hotel is a corporate estate and nearby is a residential area so I ran around there. The main reason for the run is that one of the two treadmills in the fitness centre didn’t seem to work, while the other was in use.
Overall Thoughts
I think the Hilton Garden Inn Cleveland Airport was worth the US$250 I spent on the room. The comfortable bed with decent pillows was really nice for a start.
The pool and spa made the visit for me, as it was extremely relaxing to chill there on my own after running five miles. Staff were pleasant and the lobby nice, so all in all I had a nice stay and would stay there again.
