Review: Delta Comfort Plus 757 Transcontinental JFK-LAX

Delta Comfort Plus

Background:

I wrote about how when I landed from my inbound flight from Berlin, I checked my app to check on the status of my flight from JFK-LAX. SEAT CHANGE! From 27, to row 25. I was quite excited for a second, because I knew I was originally only 2 rows behind Comfort Plus! But then I thought it could have been an equipment change. Turns out it wasn’t, and I was in Comfort Plus! Woooo!

I checked the standby list and my original seats in row 27 were given to standbys. Maybe the gate agent thought to upgrade me instead of giving Comfort Plus to standbys? I do have MVP status, and it did allow me to choose Preferred Seating as I booked before the partnership between Delta and Alaska ended.

The Flight:

I got a cool livery for my 757-200! The sliver Skyteam one.

I was in the last row of Comfort Plus, and I noticed we got blankets and a pillow (which was great because this flight was really cold). The row behind in the Main Cabin did not get blankets or a pillow! I like the Comfort Plus stitching, it looks really nice.

The legroom was good, like my previous Comfort Plus experiences. Even though we boarded late and departed late, our pilot announced that he would do the best to make up time, and so even though we left an hour late late, we only arrived 25 minutes late! That did mean he flew higher in altitude, and it was a pretty bumpy flight.

The in-flight entertainment selection was good, and I watched the Lego Batman movie and practically napped most of the flight as I was really tired.

Grub:

On Delta’s premium transcontinental routes, they now serve complimentary meals in the Main Cabin. In Comfort Plus, we have a different menu, and it consisted of cold options. Either a cheese plate, Sesame Noodle Salad with chicken or a Luvo Veggie Wrap. I wish there was actual like hot food, but then again it’s a US Domestic flight and serving complimentary food in this day in age is already unheard of. 🙂

I got the Sesame Noodle Salad….let’s just say I’m glad I ate before I got on the plane. And the caramel popsicle wasn’t my type of dessert (not a huge caramel fan).

Wifi was kind of pricey! A 30 minute pass was $11?! And a flight pass was $39.95!

Service was fine, nothing special nor glaringly bad. It was weird though, the middle lavatory was broken the whole flight so the only bathrooms for Main Cabin and Comfort Plus passengers were the 2 in the back(ish). The actual back of the plane did not have lavatories, it is in between two sections of the Main Cabin.

The Verdict:

Overall, it was a pleasant flight, and the extra legroom is nice in Comfort Plus!

Happy travels,
