Cathay Pacific operate an excellent first class lounge at London Heathrow and the Eastern Set at breakfast time is quite a decent meal. The menu changes around midday to an all day menu which is quite different.

This lounge is used by Cathay Pacific, Finnair and Qantas with other oneworld premium passengers also welcome. It is a really nice place to wile away the time before your flight.

Breakfast Menu

Within the lounge is a separate dining room with quite a large menu. As you can see below, there are almost ten different choices available to satisfy your hunger.

A range of options are available, both eastern and western. The dishes should provide something for everyone, whether you wish to eat an Asian meal or something more suited to your palate or diet preference.

It’s An Eastern Set

While choosing from the menu, I ordered a Ginger Forest which is one of the Signature Drinks in the lounge. This is an excellent drink full of flavour and it sets you up nicely for the meal to come.

The Eastern Set contains Congee with Poached Chicken, Fried Egg Noodles, Bean Sprouts, Crispy Bread and Dim Sum Basket. It is accompanied with soy sauce and chilli sauce.

For breakfast this meal is faultless. It is quite filling which is great when you’re hungry and wanting to start the day. Needless to say I finished every morsel with pleasure.

What Else Is On Offer?

For those on the run or those who might have already eaten, there are a number of self-service options in The Pantry. There are chilled items such as Bircher Muesli, Yoghurt and Fruit. Light bites such as wraps or salami are also offered.

Perhaps you like something a little more sweet? There are assorted Danish Pastries and little muffins available which are perfect to go with some coffee or tea.

Relaxing before your flight is only enhanced by great food offerings and the Cathay Pacific first class lounge at Heathrow ticks all the boxes here.

A Little Look At The Lounge Design

For those that may not have seen it, I created a video tour of this lounge on a previous visit. The design is eastern influenced and is based on The Pier in Hong Kong.

I am quite a big fan of this design and it is comfortable, elegant and just a really nice space to spend some time. Sometimes the lounge gets busy but it changes as the flights depart.

Overall Thoughts

Eating the Eastern Set for breakfast is an excellent choice. I find it is usually best to try to eat the local food of an airline as it gives you a different taste to the usual. Also, I find the local options tend to be the best. As usual the food and service in this lounge are uniformly excellent.

If you are flying through Terminal 3 at London Heathrow and have oneworld Emerald status or are flying in first class, I would highly recommend visiting here. Thank you for reading and if you have any comments or questions, please leave them below.
