Background & Access

To my delight and surprise, the small airport of Koh Samui (USM) has not 1, but 2 Priority Pass lounges! One is in the domestic terminal, and one is in the international terminal. Before my flight from Koh Samui to Singapore on board Scoot, I was able to visit the Blue Ribbon Club Lounge operated by Bangkok Airways in the International Terminal. Samui Airport is open-air, so it is nice to have an air-conditioned lounge to wait in.

After passing security and immigration, the Blue Ribbon Lounge will be located to the left, in front of Gate 6. Hours of operation at the time of posting are from 4:30 am to 10 pm daily.

Bangkok Airways Business Class passengers & Priority Pass members can access the lounge. It looks like you can also add lounge access to your Bangkok Airways bookings for a special rate of about $30 USD.

The Lounge

Essentially, the lounge is one big room, with an upper level and a lower level. There was ample seating during my 11 am visit, and the lounge was pretty empty.

Towards the back of the upper level, there is the food station, with buffet items such as dim sum & packaged pastries & snacks. Cans of soda and small water bottles are provided as well. Juices, tea & coffee were also available.

Buffet Selection

There is also a menu you can order from, and the kitchen will prepare it for you. Amazing! Items included a Thai Omelet with Jasmine Rice, Chicken Teriyaki, Stir Fried Tofu & a Rice Porridge. I wanted to try the Rice Porridge, but sadly, they were sold out for the day. I wasn’t the hungriest, so I didn’t order anything else but rather snacked from the buffet selections. Nonetheless, it was nice to have these options.

There are no restrooms in the lounge, but the airport ones are a quick walk outside.

The Verdict

In a small airport like Koh Samui, it’s quite a blessing to have such a nice lounge like the Blue Ribbon. I was pleasantly surprised by the offering and would definitely visit again if my travels bring me back to Koh Samui.
