Background
Last month, I recently completed a stay at the St. Regis New York. If you’re interested, you can read a review of my stay here.
The oddest part of my stay was that the main restaurant, La Maisonette, only had cold items on the breakfast menu.

We received two continental breakfasts from my Marriott Bonvoy Platinum status which normally would be $42 each. It provided coffee or tea, plus a fruit cup with yogurt along with the continental buffet selection of croissants & pastries. It was definitely not worth the $42 in my opinion.

The pastries were decent, though a bit cold and it felt like they were sitting out on the buffet for awhile. I think the highlight of the meal for me was actually the fruit cup that the host brought out with the tea.

Scanning the full menu outside of the Continental Breakfast, it was surprising to only see Smoked Salmon, Avocado Toast, and other cold items.
If you wanted hot items, I did check the in-room dining menu and that did have some hot items including omelets, steak & eggs, pancakes, and more.
The Verdict
Overall, it was certainly surprising to me that the main restaurant at the St. Regis New York, La Maisonette, did not serve hot breakfast items for breakfast. If you wanted hot item like an omelet, you’d have to order in-room dining.
Have you stayed at a five-star hotel with no hot breakfast options at the restaurant? Feel free to share below!
