Background and Location
The Maison Delano Paris is located in the heart of the luxurious shopping street of Faubourg Saint Honoré. Its location in the prestigious 8th Arrondissement is quite convenient to plenty of luxury shopping and restaurants. For tourist sights, it’s also located between the Louvre (1 mile) and Arc de Triomphe (1.5 miles).
In a restored 18th-century mansion, Maison Delano Paris boasts 56 rooms including 19 suites. It opened in March of 2023, to reinvigorate the modern & luxurious Delano brand which started back in 1995 with its former Miami location. Currently, there is another Delano in Las Vegas. After my stay, I would say I am a bit confused about the direction of the Delano brand. Are they going more luxurious, and less hip? Not entirely sure.
I had the pleasure of staying here after winning a contest and was treated to two complimentary nights. After seeing Norway, Sweden, and Finland, I stopped by Paris for a quick two-night stay as part of my trip with my parents.

Arrival
We arrived at the hotel around 11 pm as we had a late flight into Paris (CDG). The valet associate was very professional and immediately greeted me by name, which i found impressive, though I suppose there probably weren’t many people checking in that late. It was a great first impression, though I feel that it just went a bit downhill from here.
I was checked in by a friendly associate, though it seemed that he was in training so there were some bumps along the way. The reception area is quite small and a bit on the basic side. Nothing wrong with that, though it didn’t rub me the right way when they left the back office door open and I could see notes on a whiteboard of guest requests, etc. That part did not exude luxury to me.
Two sets of elevators go to the rooms, one located towards the bar area, and one at reception. I did find the guest room landing areas to be nice.
Prestige Room
We were booked in to the Prestige Room, which is one category above the standard offering which is the Deluxe Room. The website says that the average room size for the Prestige Room is 35 sqm / 376 sqft, though I believe our specific room was larger than that. This room can fit an extra rollaway bed, so it was perfect for the 3 of us. For Paris standards, the room was spacious and we were able to fit a rollaway bed easily, though we moved it from where they set it up facing the door, to a better spot closer to the window and bathroom.
Our room was located at the end of the hallway, and it had a very long entryway to the room. You could essentially fit 3 to 5 luggage racks along the hallway. There’s a full length mirror on the right and once you enter the room, the bedspace is immediately to the left. We had a room with two twin beds and there were nightstands on each side plus plenty of charging opportunities as well as USB A and USB C. To the right is the Lavazza coffee maker, a hot water maker, and a minibar on the desk area with a chair. Complimentary tea is provided by Palais des Thes though I was surprised there was no chamomile or caffine free option for some tea at night. A bottle of Avion was waiting in the room.
There is a large closet that contains a laundry bag steamer hairdryer, and a shoe bag where they have shoe polish where your shoes will be delivered to your room before 7 AM the following morning. During turndown service, they bring bottles of Evian and chocolates.
Bedding
The bedding was very interesting, to say the least. The sheets are provided by an Italian linen company Tessicasa, but they were very sandpapery and very rough in a way they felt like rougher linen pants. But now you had to use that as your bedsheet, so it didn’t exude luxury to me. Perhaps it’s just me, but I want sheets to be very soft silk-like textures. So, I was not the biggest fan of the bedding. On the other hand, the pillows were fine. They were very large and thick, but I overall left wanting a better bedding experience.
In front of the bed is a console where you can push the button and it will pop out the TV. I thought this was kind of fun, though it did create a big block in the room space area.
And there was a table with two circular chairs near the bathroom, which was nice for lounging.
Sometimes it did feel like a bit of a dungeon as we were on the top floor and the top floor rooms had a very small window. From outside, I could see that rooms on floors 1-3 had large floor ceiling windows. So if you want big windows, I suggest you request a room on those floors.
Bathroom
The star of the room is the bathroom. I loved the finishes and size of the bathroom. The room is very couple style as the door to the bathroom is a clear glass sliding door with no magic mirror capabilities to provide privacy. There’s a large soaking tub to the left of the bathroom, which looks very aesthetically pleasing to me! Considering how nice the tub was, I was surprised they did not provide amenities such as bath salts.
There is a single sink with ample counter space, though given how large the bathroom was, they really should have installed double sinks. On the plus side, there is a vanity mirror next to the sink, which helps get ready in the morning.
Amenities included a shower cap and vanity kit. Toiletries were provided by MALIN+GOETZ but a special scent for CIEL Spa. Refillable bottles of hand and body lotion, hydrating wash conditioner, and shampoo were provided and there were some single use bottles for the tub.
The shower had a wand function, and was an ample space, though I wish the water pressure from the rainfall was a bit stronger.
There is a separate water closet, though the bidet function did not work, which was disappointing.
Overall, I found the bathroom to be a huge size for a Parisian hotel, though they could have done better with the allocation of the space.
Service
There were some service woes, and one major one was that I called down for extra luggage racks after I checked in, and the associate who was working said he didn’t know where to find them, but to call housekeeping the next morning. Secondly, the welcome amenity of dessert items was taken outside the room and left on the carpet by housekeeping during our housekeeping service after the first night. It was never taken away by anyone and left in the hallway even after we checked out.
In Room Massages
Since there isn’t a spa onsite, the hotel does have in-room massages available from deep tissue, shiatsu, Thai, and more for 60 minutes. It is €170 and for 90 minutes it is €240 by appointment only. These can be scheduled from 9 AM to 8 PM.
Dining
Breakfast was included in our stay, and was served at the main restaurant, Le Delano Café by Thierry Marx. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner and offers a beautiful courtyard. Sadly, the weather wasn’t the most favorable during our stay, so we sat inside.
There is a breakfast buffet, or you can order a la carte. We had the full breakfast buffet included in our stay, which was more of a hybrid as it also included made to order options. They had a buffet section with a selection of pastries and bread, as well as fresh juices. There were also yogurts, muesli, fruits, and cold cuts. They then had an extensive made-to-order section for eggs, bacon, other meats, and even items like crepes. And hot drinks like tea and coffee would be ordered with your host and brought to your table.
I found the breakfast buffet to be quite tasty, and upscale, and while the buffet section itself was a bit limited, all the made-to-order items provided plenty of options.
Though it was a bit odd, at the fruit section of the buffet it says “Mango” on the list but it wasn’t laid out. So, I asked our server and he said that normally mango is an additional charge, but that he would get some for us and not charge extra. Ummm…why not just remove it from the list then and put it as an a la carte item?
Delano Bar
There is also the Delano Bar, which I wasn’t able to visit during my stay. I did see the space from walking along the street and it looked nice.
Fitness Center
There is a well-equipped fitness center for a hotel of this size in the basement. Bottles of water, cleaning wipes, and towels are provided.
The Verdict
Overall, Maison Delano Paris is located in an excellent part of the city, and the boutique feel is a breath of fresh air letting you relax from the city. However, the execution of the property elements from the service, to the bedding used, detracts from the overall experience.
