HIGHLIGHTS: FOUR POINTS BY SHERATON LAS VEGAS EAST FLAMINGO
This hotel, located a quick jaunt from the Las Vegas Strip, did a decent job as a place to crash. However, there were some glaring issue with the wifi in the room, as it was abysmally slow and unable during the first evening. I had to resort to going down to the lobby and using internet there – not ideal. Breakfast also was subpar and quite disappointing, even for a limited offerings hotel. The service was good, and the manager did offer to comp me 7,500 SPG points, so that did turn it around some.
LOBBY & CHECK-IN
Lobby’s quite spacious for a Four Points Sheraton, with lounging area, business center, and even a foosball table. Check-in was smooth, and you’ll need your room key to access the elevator and floors.
ROOM
Room was standard, with an interesting bathroom design with sectioned off sink area. View was of flatland, away from the Strip, so you can experience “Real America”. Internet as I mentioned was nonexistent, disconnecting, or very slow and nonfunctional. It was disappointing that I had to use the lobby for internet and then return up to my room each evening. Thankfully, being in Vegas means you’re not spending too much time in a hotel room!
HOTEL SPACE / AMBIANCE
I saw families and young people in sports gear, perhaps a school team. It was quiet and cozy, with young kids living nearby stopping in for some holiday event.
FOOD & DRINK
The front desk attendant offered me breakfast as I was experiencing internet issue. While appreciated, the breakfast offering was quite sad even for continental, and did not look very appetizing. I stuck with the basics, although their voucher being a novel casino chip rather than a piece of paper was quite a nice touch.
FITNESS
As we walked twenty thousand or more steps per day, I did not partake in the fitness facilities.
Miscellaneous
This was a 3,000 SPG/night stay, as it was a Category 2 earlier in the year. Thus, having gotten 7,500 bonus points as well as check in and Green Choice, I was profitable on this trip. However, it has since been upgraded to category 3, making it so not worth the now 7,000 points per night cost. It would also be hard to justify staying here on a cash rate, when you can find Strip or Downtown Vegas hotels for similar pricing, even including their exorbitant resort fees. Usually Four Points by Sheraton are a reliable, stable choice, but not in this case.

Curious, what made you pick this property over any of the other SPG options in the city like the SLS (though it’s so cheap there is no need to book it with points)?
SLS for the weekend (this was a Fri-Sun stay) was over $100/N not including Resort fee. This was 3,000 points/night. Looking back, it was probably worth it too (closer to strip, ellis island, etc.) plus we made points on this stay (7500 + 250 + 500 – 6000 = 2250 points profit.
Wow that’s much higher than I’m used to seeing for the SLS (though I’ve never stayed there myself, only gone to have Umami Burger). But if you can make a profit on a stay and the hotel is adequate for what you need then that’s definitely a win.
it was adequate except for the internet issue, but we just used it as a place to crash. SLS was cheaper during the week, but much more expensive on the weekend. At the same time, 4P was just 3K points, down from the then-normal 4K. Made sense.

Since when? Four Points by Sheraton is only known for making Ramada look like a Park Hyatt. You could stay at literally any other limited service hotel (Hampton, Fairfield) and get free breakfast and solid service.
Service here was solid I’d say – they did their best. Breakfast here was also free due to status or issue. Usually I have no problems with 4P.
