Have you tried the new Funkin’ cocktails on Aer Lingus?

A drink I’ve always been partial to is a cocktail, but I rarely have them as they’re pretty pricey. I can now get a Funkin’ cocktail when flying Aer Lingus, which adds to the food and drink available on their Bia menu.

These are offered in addition to all the other food and drinks you can purchase. Happily, even the price isn’t too ridiculous, particularly when compared to Dublin bar prices.

Have A Funkin’ Cocktail

Those Funkin’ cocktails come in two versions on Aer Lingus – one is a Passion Fruit Martini and the other is a Strawberry Daiquiri. The company itself offers seven other flavours, but these are the two available when flying the Irish airline.

I was on a flight to Malta and the cabin crew raised an eyebrow when I ordered both straight off the bat. Hey, it’s a three and a half hour flight from Dublin, so it’s not like I was on a quick 40 minute hop!

These have nitrogen in them, to give them that fresh made cocktail bar flavour. I wondered why they popped slightly different when opened and I’d say that’s why. Each 200ml can fills one of the Aer Lingus plastic beakers almost twice over ice.

Taste wise, both were very good, but I preferred the Strawberry Daiquiri over the Passion Fruit Martini. Certainly worth the €7.00 for a treat, and I took advantage of it and had the Daiquiri again on my return flight.

Overall Thoughts

It’s always nice to see airlines offering something new on board and the Funkin’ Cocktails are pretty good. When having a drink on a flight, I’d prefer something like this over a beer, wine, vodka or gin, which seem to be the airline staples.

Have you tried these cocktails before? What do you think of them? Thank you for reading and if you have any comments or questions, please leave them below.
