The good people at Finnair are unveiling a new look long-haul cabin on their aircraft in January. This promises to be a departure from the current product, with a darker palette than we have seen before.
At the same time, Premium Economy is set to be introduced, something which was to have taken place a while ago now. Exciting times for the leisure airline and its frequent flyers!
A Sneak Peek At Finnair’s New Long-Haul Cabins
Twitter has seen a teaser video land, showing tantalising glimpses of what is in store. The colours are dark blue, silver, white and gold, which looks rather nice.
We will have to wait until 19 January 2022, as that is when the official reveal occurs in Helsinki. Since one of the shots in the video is of 3L, it probably indicates that business class will get a refresh as well.

The Finnish carrier’s new long-haul cabins will feature on the Airbus A350 and Airbus A330 fleet. As the airline is not particularly huge, you would hope that the roll out wouldn’t take too long.
Premium economy is a popular class of travel and its introduction will bring the airline in line with other oneworld alliance carriers, such as Qantas, Cathay Pacific, American Airlines, Japan Airlines and British Airways – to name but a few.
Overall Thoughts
Finnair are introducing new long-haul cabins on their fleet. It will be exciting to see just how many premium economy seats will be on board, not to mention the overall design aesthetic.

Finnair, and their regional NoRRA, provide superlative service,
clean planes, good food, efficient, though not Asian carrier gracious, service,
and I look forward to their signature blueberry juice even more than I do the
chocolate SWISS serves each flight. That stuff is so good!
Also, making connections in HEL is a breeze, and they have the best livery font ever.
I’m looking forward to flying with them again in July… last time I was on board with FInnair was 2007 and they were quite good. I haven’t had the juice so I’ll be making a point of it 🙂 Great to hear your thoughts – thanks for that!
