Frequent flyer programmes usually have various ways of earning points. The fastest way is sometimes not one you would necessarily think of and it differs from airline to airline.
Aer Lingus AerClub frequent flyers have a number of earning opportunities. You can earn Avios on flights, through spending on the Bank of Ireland Aer Credit Card, shopping at Kildare Village and even purchasing points outright.
The Fastest Way To Earn
I’ll put my hand up and say that I am quite impatient (on the inside) and like to earn rewards quickly. In today’s age of instant gratification, I daresay that others feel the same way.
That brings me to the fastest way to earn Avios in the Aer Lingus frequent flyer programme. It’s very simple, really. All you need to do is book hotels via the AerClub eStore.
That means a week long hotel stay can net you thousands of Avios to use later on for free flights. I direct other spend through the eStore as well. For example I buy running shoes through there and anything else that tickles my fancy. It all adds up!
Overall Thoughts
Those who are serious about collecting Avios to redeem on free flights and flight upgrades should use the AerClub eStore religiously when making purchases. It really is the fastest way to collect Avios.
Considering the variety of airlines using Avios (including British Airways, Qatar Airways, Iberia and Finnair), it makes sense to collect as many as you can. Let’s hope they partner with a major grocery retailer sometime soon – I still miss the SuperValu partnership.

Does this work for BA Avios as well?
Yes, it’s this website, which looks very similar – https://www.shopping.ba.com/ – with some of the same retailers and other ones specific to the UK.
