How was the Cathay Pacific First Class lounge at London Heathrow on my long awaited return?

Can you remember a place where you felt absolutely at peace and totally relaxed? Most of the time, that would be your own home, but there are sometimes other locations where you get the same feeling. I get this at the Cathay Pacific first class lounge at London Heathrow.

Located in Terminal 3, it is a true oasis in the airport and oneworld Emerald frequent flyers are welcome to visit. This means you can wile away the time before your flight in a lovely atmosphere where everything is at your fingertips.

It’s Been A Long Time!

My last visit to this lounge was all the way back in 2017. From the first time I stepped foot inside, I knew I was in love, and I even made a short video tour as I found myself in the lounge on my own.

There was wonderful food, and really plenty of it, which I enjoyed so much I kept gushing about it. I wondered if things had changed since I was last there – would I be disappointed?

Revisiting The Cathay Pacific First Class Lounge

I happened to be passing through Terminal 3 at Heathrow (okay, okay, I planned it!) and popped in to the lounge. Everything was as I remembered it – the STUDIOILSE design had not changed one bit. The stress of life fell away and I enjoyed some serious relaxation.

From the plush carpet underfoot, to the natural light streaming in through the floor to ceiling windows overlooking the tarmac, all was the same – even the welcoming furniture was unchanged. Snagging the coveted corner seat, I was happy as Larry!

The Dining Room

You don’t visit a Cathay Pacific first class lounge – or any of that airline’s lounges for that matter – without sampling the delicious food on offer. Heading to the dining room, I sat down and was promptly served. Without a care for what people might think, I rattled off the four dishes I wanted to eat. Having been here before, I knew to save my appetite!

I have to confess that yes, I ate it all. Everything was great! Lovely even! I could use a lot more exclamation marks here. It’s lounge food, but done brilliantly. My it was good. Happiness in four dishes… and I really hadn’t even started on the drinks.

Feeling Peckish?

Of course, the dining room is not the only game in town in this lounge. There is “The Pantry” which has all the other bits and pieces you might want, including some delicious Jing tea.

There’s also a fridge full of other things like wraps and so on. Remember, when visiting here, bring your appetite. Lots of care is taken to provide excellent food options.

Overall Thoughts

The Cathay Pacific first class lounge at London Heathrow Terminal 3 is superb. I love every single thing about it and cannot fault it. Even though it had been seven years since I last darkened its doorway, and despite my recent visit, I am aching to get back there already.

While I was flying another oneworld alliance airline that day, you know what? It’s made me crave flying Cathay Pacific again. It’s reminded me of how much I like the airline and travelling with them. Looks like that’s where I’ll be sending my money for the next trip to Australia.

What do you think of this lounge and the Cathay Pacific lounge proposition in general? I’d love to hear your thoughts. Thank you for reading and if you have any comments or questions, please leave them below.

Looks very nice. Would you say this is the best terminal 3 lounge? My wife and I will be through there later this week and any insight is appreciated. We’ll have access to any OW lounge in the terminal.

Travel When You Can
