From Philadelphia International Airport on Saturday, February 18, 2012, at 9:50am.
Airport Wi-Fi provided by AT&T: 2mbps down, 2mbps up (granted, better than many “free” wi-fi signals). Verizon 4G with my Samsung SCH-LC11 Mi-Fi device: 10mbps down, and 5.8mpbs up.
Enough said.
That is true. So far I’ve not seen lower than 6mbps down though, but that same location was only 2mbps up….so it can vary. I’m still very happy with Mi-Fi though.
Part of the reason the speed is so good is that penetration is low at this point. When the network gets more congested, speeds will be slower.
Do you get unlimited data?
5GB for 50 per month. More than I need and will drop to 2GB when I can.
Wow. That’s better than my AT&T DSL!
I love my 4G device. Sad but true : it beats my “DSL” connection from Century Link in Seattle for both up and down by miles.
