Currently, American Express is offering elevated welcome bonuses on all but one of their co-branded Delta credit cards. With these limited time offers, you can earn up to 90,000 miles with a single welcome bonus. If you’re looking to fast track your way to elite status, then you can also earn up to 20,000 MQMs. While many of these cards have very appealing offers, I’m reviewing one of my favorite co-branded Delta cards – The Delta SkyMiles Platinum American Express card.
Delta SkyMiles Platinum American Express Card
One of the main reasons that I really like this card is the fact that it’s a perfect fit between a no annual fee and a premium credit card priced upwards of $500. Also, the card allows you to not only earn a lot of miles but also gives you the chance to fast track to Delta elite status by way of spending on the card.
Welcome Bonus
Currently, you’ll earn the following welcome bonus after you spend $3,000 in the first 3 months:
- 90,000 bonus miles
- 10,000 MQMs (Medallion Qualification Miles)
This limited time offer ends on December 1, 2021.
Earning Miles
Moreover, the Delta SkyMiles Platinum American Express card offers you the opportunity to earn a decent return on everyday spend, as displayed by these mileage earning categories:
- 3x SkyMiles on purchases with Delta
- 3x SkyMiles on purchases at Hotels
- 2x SkyMiles on purchases at restaurants and at supermarkets in the US
- 1x SkyMiles on all other purchases
Companion Certificate
Unlike the base level credit cards, the Platinum Delta Amex card offers a companion certificate each year after you renew your card. This companion certificate is valid for main cabin flights on domestic routes. If you fly Delta frequently with your significant other or family, then this one benefit can definitely help you save hundreds of dollars on a trip each year.
Additional Benefits
If you fly Delta frequently, then these additional benefits are really useful for saving some money on your upcoming trips.
- Free first checked bag (when you book using your credit card)
- Earn an extra 10,000 MQMs when you spend $25,000 in a calendar year (this can be done twice)
- In 2021, you’ll also earn 25% more MQMs. For example, if you spend $25,000, you’ll earn 12,500 MQMs. If you spend $50,000, you’ll earn 25,000 MQMs. All these MQMs will be in addition to the 10k MQMs you earn with the welcome bonus
- You’ll get a 20% statement credit on all in-flight purchases while flying on Delta
Co-branded Delta Credit Card Offers
If you’re looking to earn more MQMs and spend time at Delta SkyClubs, then Amex is also offering elevated bonuses on the personal and business version of the Delta Reserve credit card. Here’s a quick snapshot of some of the elevate bonuses on all of the co-branded Delta cards with American Express.
