There will be 14 new Ryanair cities opened from Dublin Airport this summer to places in Europe. This should provide a nice bit of competition on certain routes and more convenience for flyers.
According to Air Service One, Ryanair has over half the short haul capacity out of Dublin, making it the major player at the airport. 57% of these routes have zero competition, which must a situation they really enjoy!
New Ryanair Routes
People flying out of Dublin are spoiled for choice really and this only adds to the largesse. Heading to Italy? You can now fly non-stop to Venice, Trieste, Genova and Brindisi with Ryanair. How about Spain? Asturias and Castellón join the network this summer.
Overall Thoughts
Lots of new Ryanair cities for those wanting to get away for the summer from Dublin. The Irish airline is a great way to get you where you need to go, as everyone knows. One thing that people should remember though.
Ryanair take advantage of the fact their brand positioning is “the cheapest in the market” and people will search and book with them without thinking. Always check other airlines, as sometimes even the large and well established ones like Aer Lingus, British Airways, Iberia, Lufthansa, SWISS and KLM can be cheaper than Ryanair.

I really wish we had a true Ryanair type operation here in the States. Our “ULCC’s” aren’t really that great by the time you bundle what you need. I know FR does that as well with a bunch of add-ons inflight but you really can fly from A to B for next to nothing if you do your homework. Not here.
Quite true!!
