The Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas is rebranding to the Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas this Wednesday, August 29th. Arguably one of the best hotels in Las Vegas, my recent stay left much to be desired. The Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas was a nice boutique option on the Strip but it had tired rooms and ordinary service.
Waldorf Astoria Rebrand:
But I’m excited for the change in management, and I’m hoping the planned $50 million renovation will help revamp the rooms back to a luxurious state.
Additionally, I’m happy it is joining the Hilton Portfolio as I can earn Hilton Points and use my Diamond Status. I’m curious how upgrades will be here as well as how the Continental Breakfast will be handled for Diamond Members.
What’s awesome is that the Waldorf is a “Resort” Property so if you have the Hilton Aspire Card, which I’ve written about, you can use the $250 credit at this property towards room rates + incidentals!
The Verdict:
I would give the Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas a shot, hopefully after they do a renovation. I’m curious to see if the Waldorf Astoria does a better job than the Mandarin Oriental did!

Wow, very exciting. It is a fantastic hotel I’ve stayed at a few times, especially for FHR offers. I loved the MO brand and it’s style. WA with HH is very exciting though. I hope they don’t change the hotels style too much; the bar and spa and pool are all great. I wonder if WA bought rights to keep the trademarked lobby scent?
I’m also excited to see how it is! Thanks for reading.
