Many people think Vegas is not a place for kids but rather some fun for those over 21. Sure you drink, gamble and party, but there’s so much else to do for those under 21 (like me!).

Fun Tip #1- Eat

There’s an array of so many celebrity chefs that opened shop in Vegas. And my personal favorite, eating at buffets! Where else can you get all you can eat crab legs?

My Buffet Tips: Bellagio’s buffet is $36.99 on weekdays and has a better selection of cooked food + pretty good crab legs. Wicked Spoon at the Cosmopolitan suffers on cooked food but has the best deserts in my opinion. But it’s pricey at $42 for dinner on weekdays. Haven’t tried Bacchanal buffet yet but it’s supposed to be the best, with a hefty price starting at $54 for weekday dinner.

My Budget Recommendation (But No Crab Legs): Feast Buffet at Red Rock Resort. $9 for lunch (Monday-Saturday) with drinks, a gelato station and food from many different cuisines (American, Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Spanish)! Good, and totally worth it!

Just remember buffet prices fluctuate frequently and weekends and holidays can skyrocket in price for the same food. Check prices before you go, and weekdays and non-holiday times are much cheaper!

Fun Tip #2- Shows

Shows! Vegas has tons like many Cirque du Soleil shows such as the famous O at Bellagio, Michael Jackson ONE at Mandalay Bay, and many more.  Not into that? Catch magic shows like Penn and Teller or stage shows like the Blue Man Group.

Fun Tip #3- Arcades

The best one is at Circus Circus. They have “The Midway” which can entertain children immensely! Tons of arcade games for kids and fair like games to win stuffed animals I used to spend a lot of time here lol.

A close runner up would be the Coney Island Emporium at New York New York, which has lots of arcade games.

And of course, there’s arcades sprinkled around all the Vegas hotels such as Excalibur, Bellagio (super tiny), and all the local Station Casinos which are located off the strip.

Fun Tip #4- Amusement Rides

Places like the Stratosphere and Circus Circus have amusement park like rides. The Adventuredome at Circus Circus has many child rides, while Stratosphere features more thrilling rides for older kids.

Fun Tip #5- Attractions

Vegas has the tallest ferris wheel, The High Roller! Riders are put in a capsule for a 30 minute ride and can see the Vegas skyline.

Vegas also has one of only 3 M and M World’s in the US. Fun large store to visit. I’ve been to all 3 in the US (NY, Vegas and Orlando) plus London but I’m missing Shanghai… Get a Slot Machine M and M candy dispenser.

You can visit Red Rock Canyon and hike. It’s very pretty there and its only about a half hour from the strip.

Off strip hotels such as Red Rock Resort and Sunset Station have bowling alleys! I know Red Rock has $1 bowling on Mondays which is great.

Most of the hotels on the Strip have a theme! Visit the Venetian and ride a gondola like you are visiting Venice, or go to Paris and take a ride to the top of the miniature Eiffel Tower for a nice observation deck of the city.

Fun Tip #6- Hotels

Where else can you visit in the US and find 5 star hotels for around $100? Or 4 Stars for $50. Vegas! Plus, many of these hotels offer awesome pools to relax in. Like the Beach at Mandalay Bay which is huge and is family friendly!

Reminder: Vegas rates fluctuate greatly and weekends can often cost 3x more than weekdays.

M Resort Henderson

My last stay was at the M Resort, review coming soon!

Fun Tip #7- Supervised Child Care

For those with youngsters under 12, there is supervised child care you can send your kids to! Kids Quests are spread out all over Station Casinos located off the strip. My recommendations are at Red Rock Resort, Green Valley Ranch and Sunset Station. They feature large playgrounds and video games. It was very fun to go here as a kid! There is a 5 hour time limit per day.

The Verdict:

You don’t have to be over 21 to have fun in Vegas! From eating, attractions and staying at nice hotels, there’s an array of options to explore in Vegas!

Cheers,
